Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

No new news from MEN but at least the article tries to show we shouldn't panic
The title of the article had me worried anyway. The word might did not fill me with confidence. Victor Lindelof better hadn't be the only signing. I am sure they have everything under control, but at the moment they are doing everything Jose asked them not to do.

So we're to believe that Woody is purposely waiting so he can sign players at specific times in order to stick to his established structure? Sounds sensible....

No it says that while we fans think the club is sitting simply whiling away time and not making contact, there are lots of things going on and it takes only a couple of days to get as many as 3 signings.

I am very optimistic we will get atleast one more signing or two before we depart to USA. We are just holding out to get the prices down for our targets that's just my opinion though.

Real Madrid will start talks about signing Manchester United keeper David de Gea, 26, once the deal to take striker and fellow Spain international Alvaro Morata, 24, in the opposite direction is completed. (Don Balon via Daily Express)

I know it's not a tweet but i needed to share it here. I mean who can be dumb enough to come up with such a stupid scenario.

RM: Hey United, we will rip you off for Morata. We will put a 30 mil premium on him
United: well since we really need a striker and can afford it...lets make it a 10 mil premium and lets get it done
RM: 30mil!
United:15
.....

United: ok, 30 mil then.
RM: now, since we took you to the cleaners with Morate transfer we would like to negotiate with you DDg transfer. How much would you like to get for him?
United: do you remember that 30 mil premium?

Madrid relaxed about James and Morata. The summer is long. Basically implying that they are in no hurry to complete the deals.

Isn't that basically a rehash of the perez comments after he won reelection and stated "i like deals that take till august"?

The Sun saying Jose wants us to buy Lukaku after Morata. Even though they will have made this up it was still nice to briefly think that we might buy two forwards, or anyone really.

Assuming we will only spend big money on one striker (looking like Morata), and assuming that Rooney will either leave (hopefully) or stay (and contribute very little), surely we could do worse than re-sign Chicharito? I can't think of many better third or fourth choice strikers out there. Potentially the new Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer...if only we'd still had him around to bring on for the last 20 mins of all those 0-0s last season...

The cult of Hernandez on this site truly baffles me.

eh?

Wasn't aware of the existence of such a thing, but from a personal perspective I think that even with the signing of Morata we will be a little short in terms of cover up top. In the context of that I can't think of many better options, available at a reasonable price (say sub £15 million), that might be happy to come to the club and be useful to bring on when we need a goal from somewhere.

If you disagree that's cool, but would be interested to hear who you think would fit the bill better?

C'mon Woody, a quality transfer or two this week please.

Thanks,
Cee90.

That's the reason why he left us in the first place.
Yep, and at the time he had unrealistic expectations of his true level. I think now, after a couple of years at Leverkusen, and (apparent) interest from clubs like West Ham, he might have realised that being one of a number of options for Manchester United is not so bad after all...

Arsenal: We'd like to welcome our new £60m signing Lacazette

Aulas: We'd like to wish all the best to our £40m departure Lacazette

Aulas: I've also bought a new yacht
