So in effect we pay for Chelsea to get a younger version? Seems a shed lot of money. Do not doubt his ability or our need for that type of player. But if that is the fee we yet again pay well over the odds.

Good question, but I believe we are trying to buy someone from Inter in same age bracket, and not willing to up our bid which is less than Euro 30 M.
I'd pay more for a premier league proven player personally. I don't think 35 Million is outrageous relative to other transfer fees.
It's like when they went for Thiago Silva but ended with Jérémy Mathieu on deadline day.

Not saying he wouldn't, from what I hear he's done OK in Brazil but it's such a massive difference in player. One is a potential best in the world midfielder while the ther flopped big time in Europe and fecked off back to Brazil.
I keep reading GBP 40M, but who knows, the media are the media. Agree with PL experience. Be interesting whether this would take the midfield to the next level?

Why is no PL club buying Manolas? The 40 million and 4 million net salary would be better invested than what is going around for the same price in the PL. He is 25, one of the best players on his position and still young. Don´t understand this...
I am hating this transfer window as compared to the last year. We targeted the perfect profile of players last year and all of them were a success. Now even after getting into Champions league, the sad part is we are not shopping in the top tier, we are shopping in the 2nd tier which is usually where Liverpool and Spurs shop. For us in order to win EPL or go futher in the CPL we need star quality striker or a winger of top class quality. Every other team in top 6 has them. Chelsea have Hazard and Costa, Arsenal have Sachez, Ozil and will probably sign Lacazette, City have soo many i don't even want to name them its depressing, even Liverpool have Salah, Mane and Coutinho.
And from all the players we have been linked to i am mostly excited about Fabinho and even then it seems like we will probably sign Matic. I wish this window will just be over with and we start the season already.

Morata as much as I don't rate him is rated highly by many "experts" and also both of my brothers who watched him a lot (they support Juve and Real) said that he would be a great addition. He is definitely a great player.
Also I think we are preparing something big but journos just didn't found out what it is. Remember how quickly and without any reports we concluded deal for Falcao for example or for Bailly last season.
Hopefully Barca go for Coutinho. Liverpool wouldn't recover from that.
Insiders here (Sky Sport) are just saying that Alex Sandro to Chelsea is a done deal for £60m and that the player is going to earn €7m/year instead of €2.6m/year at Juve (he also rebuffed a €5m/year renewal offer).
Keep an eye on this one. We'll be trying to bring him back to England for £60m in a couple of years. Big talent, and Jose is a fan.
Really quite shocked at that fee for Traoré. Probably the best of our "youth farm." Definitely one to keep an eye on. He'll probably pull a De Bruyne and end up at one of our rivals for huge money in a couple of years. 
Saw him against Lyon and he tore them a new one. Did not know he was a Chelsea player. Someone to keep an eye on perhaps.
