Seems to me like other clubs are going for the best talent and we're going for older 2nd rate players, hope I'm wrong but it does seem that way.

My theory: we put out a negative briefing for our interest in Fabinho since we knew Chelsea were chasing Bakayako and Monaco might not sell both in same window. We contacted Matic as a backup in case we cant secure Fabinho. So regardless of what happens we get a DM on Mous list but save face if we miss out on Fabinho. That's my thinking at least.

No way we sign both Fabinho and Matic and it looks like the latter is done.

I am happy. Good player, we severely lack a holding midfielder - he's won the league twice.

Why not both , we have the funds, if fellani is going too we can sign both.

The two lowest ones are by far the best for me.

To be fair Coman fee was agreed 2 years ago so was always going to look good in this new crazy fee climate.

Tielemans is a quality signing though for a good fee.

Last year of contract If I'm not wrong, it would make sense to sell him now.

Sure we've got the option of an extra year. I'd expect Mou to give him a new deal instead of selling him anyways if not.

I'm gonna say Di Marzio is wrong with regards to Fabinho this time. We wont be signing him.

Whenever I've seen Sandro he reminded me of a left-footed Valencia. Which is by no means a bad player, just not a 70 million player.

We have already taken that option of extending his deal by a year as he was running out of contract. If he is no longer required selling him would be a good option.

Besides he is only useful as a target man further up the pitch and a plan b with longballs in the box.

Nathan Ake? Who? And for £20m? How the feck do Chelsea do it.
Quite clever, they loan them out to a club - the club makes them integral to that side. Chelsea recall them to "give them a chance" and just end up charging the other club through the nose to get him back.

You think Bournemouth will try to get him?

Mourinho love him. He won't be leaving any time soon.

£20m for Ake is part of the reason I feel we don't use the loan system well enough. He's only worth that because of his time at Bournemouth.

If we'd loaned out Keane first, we could've got a similar fee.

There's nothing from journalists close to Chelsea on Matic is there? Ogden and Jackson are two of the worst for United.

Not sure I trust the links to Fabinbo either mind.

And we are selling januzaj for 8 m .
Nathan Ake, who has had 2 great loans in the last couple of years and has proved his worth to outside clubs is worth more than Januzaj, who has failed at three clubs in the last 2 seasons, you don't say?
