Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

We should trust Mourinho until he proves otherwise thus supporting the signings he makes. So far they've all been good.
He left Chelsea in 16th place and finished 6th here after breaking the world record on a transfer. Pretty big reason to question his decisions.

Contrary to reports in England suggesting Naby Keita is close to joining Liverpool, RB Leipzig have slapped an €80m price tag on him. (Bild)

I reckon someone will pay that in a season or two, cracking little player.

oh ffs!!. He also won us the Europa League and League cup. We're 2nd team in England last season in terms of success. :wenger:

No he won't, he's slow and cumbersome which will leave Pogba having to come back and help him every time we face a team with quickness in their attack, wqhich is practically everyone these days, he's declining and not good enough which is why Chelsea are fine with selling him to us, they wouldn't sell him to us if he was any threat.

No his positional sense makes up for lack of mobility , he is not out of control ever when he's playing , and he can win the ball without others support.

Chelsea may be selling because of their pursuit of other stars they are after who are expensive and that has been their way to fund their transfers for good few years, also matic would be willing to force his move.

Positional awareness is irrelevant when you move like a slug, we've been over this.

They are selling him because he's the obvious weakness in their team and Conte identified it straight away which is why he's fixing it.

He's also won the league at every club he's been at and has won the champions league twice. Something tells me he knows more about football than some redcafe posters.

Also Matic hasn't got long left in his contract. They either offer him a new contract or sell him for a decent fee this summer.

Mostly posted it, because I'm enjoying the Liverpool shit show. On one hand I would love us to sign him, on the other hand I feel like we need that quality now and not next summer.

This isn't as much about Matic as it is about us not signing Fabinho. Maybe he isn't all that good? :nervous:

Discussing Jose's success last season is irrelevant anyway. Ones who're criticizing him now for finishing 6th and downplaying the 2 trophies will be the same who will ask for his head if he finished 3rd and win zero trophies. They'll ask for his head anyway.

Better to go back to tweets.

I think we are setting up for another transition season, get top 4 and then get Griezmann next summer when we could also go for Keita to add some more dynamism to our midfield.

Fabinho is amazing. RedCafe have seen him put in 3 super performances in the Champions League therefore we must sign him. Apparently.

Orc is a Chelsea fan and said this....

I'd suggest your eyes are decieving you.

He was shit the season before Kante and had one good season under Mourinho over 2 years ago, with his frame and size he was always going to decline sharply and it's clearly began.

I actually agree with you. He was the guy in the starting 11 that Chelsea will easily replace. He's too slow and ponderous on the ball. Fits in with zombie football.

So I'm not a big fan of giving Chelsea £40m for a 29 year old. If Fabinho isn't the answer then get someone else. I'd take Dier ahead of Matic, but I'm not a big fan of his too.

Well it is. We won the EL because that is where LvG landed us, not Jose. He got us into the CL by any means. He's a winner. What did Spurs and Liverpool win? Zilch.
We wont have the EL next season to save us. We have to be better than the 6th best team in England and are being linked with scrubs who will likely see us fighting for top 4 at best.

Yep, Chelsea and Conte aren't selling him, and not just that but selling him within the league, because he's vital, it's because he's easy to upgrade in that side.

I'd honestly just play Herrera as the deeper player and buy another box to box rather than spend north of £40M on the likes of Dier and Matic.

Have you ever thought that some of our underperformers from last season might actually turn up this season as well? The transfer window is not yet open and people are moaning about players we haven't signed.

I've seen so little of Monaco and didn't notice Fabinho when I did. But if he was as great as the Caf say he'd surely be picked up??

Potentially so. Hopefully Jose doesn't go into the season presuming that though.

Mourinho can pay millions to bring a literal turd to the team and some people here will still defend his choices.
I know it's the transfer thread but couldn't resist replying.

Maybe the reason they defend is his record of success around the world.
Maybe it's the fact that he is perhaps the most successful active manager in world football both in terms of winning trophies and also winning them across leagues with different teams.
And maybe it's also to do with him winning his last pl campaign with this 'turd' being a key part of that team.
Of course mourinho has signed players who haven't been successful under him but the key part is that when he gets who he wants, he delivers trophies. He has already done that last season for us and if matic is who he wants, then I'm 100% behind him even though I personally would have loved fabinho.

Anyways at the end of the day, we don't even know if he wants matic or fabinho. I'm just hoping he gets who he wants

Zero professionalism from the chair-launching maniac. He is the embodiment of why there is no loyalty in football thesedays, with cnutish agents like this interested only in lining their own pockets and holding clubs to ransom.

Agreed. Can't stand the fat cnut.

He will turn on us (again) in a year or two. Wont be pretty

Only problem with that statement is that his players don't move much at the exception of Balotelli and Ibrahimovic. And the former was free and still didn't move.

Does feel kind of starnge that so few big transfer deals have happened yet at the big English clubs. I felt that United and Arsenal in particular would be very busy, very early.

And what's going on at Spurs? I haven't even seen them linked with anyone, nevermind sign anyone.
Its the off summer between WC and Euros. And as its a world cup year players want to move. Its just a case of after the holiday as they dont get one next season. Agreements in place but no rush to be back in the helter skelter just yet.

How are people not happy with Matic he's quality
He's 29. Too short term to be thinking

I think Conte would gladly keep Matic here as a squad player. It seems though that Matic himself wouldn't be happy with that role and the rumored £40m is too much for the club to refuse.

If a manager like Mou wants him (again!) he obviously feels like he'll be great for you guys. That's why I as a Chelsea fan would be pissed if it happens.
for 40m for Matic, you should be pissed off if it does not happen. The biggest team in England are no place for Chelsea's expired products.

I think we have to face the truth that Mou isn't going to make the flashy signings if they don't fit into our system. He's going to look for players who he thinks will help him win and If that's what we want, then we should support whoever he signs.
He's here to win trophies, and if he believes Matic will help us, then we should be happy to sign him.
