Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Spot on.

I agree.

If Madrid gets Mbappe, Madrid will move more quickly to free one of their forwards especially Morata. If United then gets Morata, you get the feeling Chelsea will move quickly for Lukaku and that will hasten Costa's move to Atletico. The mega money Monaco makes from the Mbappe deal might also encourage them to release Fabinho and Bakayoko. And on and on and on.

This is a good point, something I hadn't thought about. I hope you're right.

Lacazette would be a huge improvement on Giroud and Welback. If only Arsenal could keep Sanchez and Ozil, their attack would be as good as any in the league.

I don't normally post here, but this window has been a little boring. Where are all the bullshit rumours? Gaitan, where art thou?

" We tried to sign Mbappe but I was unlucky, Madrid robbed us of him just like Barca robbing us of Messi before. Feck them I could have won CL if I had got all the players I wanted "

Haha spot on. As you say, impossible to know if they were ever in the race, but this would certainly be the end of that speculation.

Boring???

Where have you been? You've been missing all the exciting jokes mate!

Mbappe to Arsenal (hahahaha, still laughing here), Liverpool bidding for Mbappe, Ronaldo threatening to walk out of Madrid and United buying him for 250 million bucks plus De Gea, Griezemann heading to United, and then not heading to United again, Lukaku for 100 million, Bellotti for 90 million, Bale to United, Neymar to United, Chelsea and United for Lewandowski, Perisic for 50 million bucks, Wayne Rooney back in training to launch an assault on next season, United for Andre Gomez, United for Fabinho, even Anderson Telisca falling in love with Jose, Conte quitting Chelsea, Di Maria heading to jail with Jose, Bakayoko to Chelsea, Matic to United, Dier for 50 million, Dembele liking Lindelof's tweets, Morata getting married, Dermien getting married, and a thousand others.

I know why they happen I just think the loan system is overused in the PL. And in Harrop's case I doubt he will ever be good enough so letting him leave outright than waste his time sending him on loan for years.
How would we know he's not good enough without seeing him on loan against better opposition than reserve players. We did that with Welbeck and Evans and they proved themselves as Premier League quality players.

Aye it's the summer of love. 50 years after the last one.

I'd rather we go after Lacazette instead of Morata.

 Mike Keegan . So you're not saying anything really

Playing devils advocate a bit here, but I can understand why journos put disclaimers in their tweets now, with the way people jump all over them if they're wrong or things change.

The problem they have is that I'm sure things can change pretty quickly and I bet clubs give misinformation to try to play games with other clubs etc. In this case, if Matic is a target, he could agree terms next week and the journo would look daft. If he's genuinely been told that we haven't agreed terms then I'd rather hear it than not.

Would make too much sense. So we won't.
Morata definitely fits the Mourinho profile better than Lacazette though.

Is it just me, or is Lacazette over rated? He'll score goals sure, but he isn't a player I'm disappointed about missing out on at all.

I'd rather we go after Lacazette instead of Morata.

Me too, I dont understand why we seemingly arent in for him. Lacazette, Fabinio and Douglas Costa are all on the market and would improve us in areas that we need it most.
Instead all Im hearing about is Perisic and Dier, I really hope those dont happen

I think you misunderstood on 2 counts:

1. But a few hours ago the talk was of Mbappé to Arse.
2. I am not a fecking arse!

1. Yeah I was aware of the Mbappé to Arsenal chat. I'm gutted for you guys, I really am, but you never know, you might still get him! *conceals smirk* ;)
2. Indeed not.

I think there will be at least 1 "wtf" signing

You may well be right. I'm sure that following the Griezmann disappointment, Woodward will be desperate to get a big name in before the window shuts - that would likely be in the form of a mega-bucks deal for Bale/James or similar late in the window, but is probably a low-probability outcome due to the difficulty inherent in those kind of transfers.

not exactly world class players that we need

Careful, you'll be hit by the barrage of posts telling you how amazing these players will be in the 'system'. At the level we want to reach we need world class players/top young talent.

I still think that Madrid will dangle the player/s until the last possible minute to feck up our chances of getting our backup plan and then say "sorry no sale".

I think Woodward has learnt and also Jose is well aware of Madrids antics having managed there and dealing with Perez and also having Mendez as the main man for high level signings and being his client
