Because he's not considered good enough for the first team obviously.

But he has been very good for the reserves ? Even if he's not going to play now as a first team player we should have extended his contract then sending him on loan, not letting his contract run out and him goes for free like this!

He was offered a contract but didn't sign it. Also he can't go on a free at his age there will be a fee due.

Well, if we tried to give him a new contract and he refused, that will relieve me a bit that we tried our best to keep him.

I hate it when we send kids on loan for years. If we are not going to give them a shot with the first team let them continue their careers elsewhere.

Really ? Getting a chances on loan to play regularly is sure better than waiting for one or 2 matches per year in the first, and no big club should guarantee a kid a regular position in the team. Loans are there for a reason.

I know why they happen I just think the loan system is overused in the PL. And in Harrop's case I doubt he will ever be good enough so letting him leave outright than waste his time sending him on loan for years.

I guess you have to look at the standard hes going to to realise that he probably wasn't as good a prospect as we wanted him to be. 20 plemier league teams passed up the chance to sign him (including us obvioualy) and a fair few better championship sides than PNE.

If chelsea or liverpool had come in for him then be annoyed, but when you release a player and he drops that much in terms of level of football, it was probably the right decision.

As this is a 'free' transfer (I know there will be a fee), I assume there won't be a sell-on or buy-back clause? Nuts, but good luck to him.

Can there be a sell-on or buy-back if the player leaves at the end of his contract?

You have a point, hopefully it doesn't end up biting us in the arse down the road.

Could be, it depends what the clubs agree. I can't imagine either club will want it to go to tribunal.

Really don't understand the disappointment in him going. As pointed out already he's 22 this December (the same age as Martial) and has only played one game for the senior team. Even though Martial had a poor season last year he is still a significantly better player. There is definitely a tendency on here to overrate home grown players because we all want them to become regulars for the first team rather than splashing out on other players but we have to be realistic. It's was the case in the past with Welbeck and is still an issue with Lingard.

At the end of the day Pogba (who at 19 was clearly a special talent) left us for Juve whereas Harrop at 21 has only managed a move to PNE. Surely if he was good enough to get games here next season then he'd have gotten a move to another Premier League team.

With all due respect those who expected him to become a regular here are just kidding themselves. He was never going to be good enough. In saying that I wish him the best. Can't have been an easy decision for him to leave and he should be commended for that.

Verratti confirms to PSG that he wants to leave.

Christ. Really shows how much these 'journalists' have to scrape the barrel to produce any news that might come close to exciting - 'yep, oh look he mentioned Guardiola's name before Mourinho's! Scandal!'

I say Penn & Teller, I still don't know which one's which, means feck all. Move on and wait for further updates.

Advanced discussions. €50M. Should be completed by end of next week.

Don't think they're trying to cause excitement tbf. His point is merely that Fabinho obviously said something about Guardiola and only talked of Mourinho when prompted by the interviewer. It might be small and could mean nothing but the tweeter is just illustrating context, that's it.
