Getting closer to the 10pm UK press release time. So we should see a Morata update in the next hour or so.

Says Madrid wont take a penny less than €80 million with absolutely no credible source.

Which is like £69 million btw
The exchange rate at the moment is almost parity, it'd be more like 78m.which is ludicrous.

Very good points.

Carrick and Fellaini really feel underwhelming. But if I sidetrack feelings, I can see the case for both from Jose's perspective. Fellaini is his dream loyal soldier who can give an arm for him in battle. Jose LOVES players like that. And in fairness, Fellaini was really getting better and better in actual play. He was immense in that Europa League final. But it is one thing to be up against Ajax, it is a totally differet ball game to be up against Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern or Juventus, which is what will happen in the CL. Also, we cannot afford to be 6th again in the premier league. Jose seems, as at this moment, to think that our problem was primarily goalscoring ad he is trying to address that directly.

About Carrick, his leadership, experience and United genes will still be very useful for at least one more season, especially in the dressing room, after all, Wayne Rooney might be leaving soon.

These are things Jose has always valued in his career well over flair and new big names.
But our first signing was a young center-back? And Morata and a medium/good winger won't be enough to solve it. We need two forwards, at least. I say we buy Belotti first and let's see if Real Madrid hold Morata in their attempt at Mbappé.

We should tell Madrid to feck off. Who is below Morata and Belotti on Joses priority list? Go for that guy. 90 million euros for him is ridiculous. Hopefully Woody work some magic and get this done, if not we go for next on the list.

Conte leaving after falling out with Abramovich would be the least surprising thing you've ever read.

They've got an issue with renewing Courtois' contract as well. He wants parity with De Gea and is currently on about half that.
He's no where as good. So why should he get parity. Hope the chavs crash and burn.

Each newspaper is saying different things than the other it's insane.

The deal is on but these journalists seem to know feck all about what's happening between the 2 clubs.

Good old Roman.
Conte leaving is not surprising even without considering Abramovich.
He's just used to it.

He left us just at the beginning of pre-season after we failed to buy one of his targets, and after constantly mocking his players (he literally said that we were like toy tanks going against real ones, after we failed to make to the round of 16 in cl; with the same team that reached the final the year after) and our board for being parsimonious (other infamous quote "You can't dine at a 100€ restaurant with 10€")

I guess that ,after winning the PL with Chelsea, discovering that he can't spend gigamillions on the market is too much for his ego.

And apparently if Conte does walk, Chelsea want Tuchel who is also known for not getting on well with the higher ups at clubs so that should be fun.
