Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Sounds ridiculous as it's only June 7, but this transfer window has the feel of the Moyes summer window all over it.

Day after day passes with no real tangible links as player after player find their way to other clubs.

Like I said, sounds ridiculous as it's only just June but for me there is that feeling in the air similar to the Moyes summer window that nothing seems to be going according to plan (whatever that plan is)

Honestly, we get these same complaints almost every summer, regardless of how early or late we end up doing business. the reality is that sometimes we sign players early in the window, sometimes in the middle, and sometimes late. Also reality is that other clubs always have and always will sign players, some will be before we sign ours, some will be after.

Last time his move broke down, he signed a new contract here. Not sure what you're on about, he's not agitated for a move at all.

Do you think it's just coincidence that Madrid are always after him or reports of him leaving? For Madrid to always be after him they must be getting some positive feedback of him or his agent it's common sense. There not going to chase him for all this time m if he didn't or doesn't want to join them

Look at Rooney/RvP.....Etc

Very different characteristics, attributes they rely on and conditioning.

It's like pointing at Barthez/Valdes/Bravo as an example of keeper longevity when the likes of Buffon go on forever. E.g. I can guarantee you De Gea will go on for long ala Buffon/Cech while Navas will turn to shit in his early 30s.

Ronaldo as a 9 can bang them in for fun for years to come. You probably don't want him out wide for much longer though, clearly.

Yeah and we've been linked with Bale literally since the year he went to Real Madrid. Are we to take that seriously as well? De Gea is one of the world's best and Spanish, it's pretty much expected that he'll be linked with Real Madrid until he's like 35.

Finally they have a proper manager in charge, not a puppet. Good for Zidane to stand up to the powers that be.

(I'll give him 'til Xmas)
Hats off to Zidane. He is managing the egos of players and suits alike splendidly. E.g. "If Morata leaves I need a replacement". No Yes/No, X or Y price, sell him if you will but if we are found wanting later it's on you. Suddenly they aren't that keen on selling him

In the same fashion as Madrid and De Gea - I have decided to 'cool my interest' in buying a brand new Aston Martin DB9 (that I offered the dealer £50 for) and stick with my reliable Renault Clio.

Clearly I could easily have bought the Aston Martin if I'd really wanted to...

But you said it's easier for you guys to close down a transfer when a player you're after has a release clause, and this one is 60 million. I assumed you were implying that Liverpool can just payout that clause and get it done...
Oh my bad I was just making the point we struggle immensely with transfers

FSG really going to spend £50M+ on a defender?
No idea, their track record says no of course but all the signs show that they're willing to spend big this window. I would be okay-ish with us spending between £50m-£60m on a CB that really improves our defense since it's been our weak point for seveal years, but only if we are still able to get our other main targets.

£75m though, we should walk away from that without even considering it, ffs.

Would be a world record for a defender...for van Dijk...bit OTT

Either real propaganda designed to lower his price or theyre going all in for mbappe.

They are just not going for De Gea. For now at least. Mbappe would be more linked to Morata. If Mbappe arrives Morata leaves, if they leave the bap for next Summer then they have to keep Morata of Zidane won't be happy. I don't expect any of these three to move tbh unless we do pay the ridiculous sums bandied about (they won't lower, don't want/need to sell).

Nothing to do with United not bowing to the presence of Real or perhaps Dave telling them no. Think if the transfer doesn't happen, it's one of those but Real will just want to save face. They can't have people thinking a club wont bend over for them or a player would snub them.

Obviously bs but rumours rife on twitter Romaldo to leave Real and join us for €157m.
