Sorry to be the bearer of bad news guys but Miguel Delaney retweeted this guy...

If he's right it sure was fun while it lasted. What a crazy day it's been, can't wait to see what happens tomorrow.

Why is it bad news?

Who wants a player who doesn't want to play for us and could leave on a free to stay with us?

OK, so Bale or Ronaldo has a year left on his contract and we offered 20m euros. You would be happy with that?

I call bullsh!t
I think that the offer was higher, 25+5 and probably at the end was 35/40. The situation of every club is different, I wouldn´t like Cristiano unhappy in his last year, I would try to sell him for 45/50 but he is the 2d best player in the world and produces a lot of money. Probably Madrid should appreciate more the GK position. Now I hope that he will play, I don´t trust Iker for Euro :(

So Martial and Navas (probably, Real are a disgusting, crooked club and will push this through...) anyone expecting another signing tomorrow?

Mane?

Ibrahimovic is the one I dream about. But unlikely.

What time was Falcao linked with us last year?

Well only because if it really has fallen through and Madrid are likely to be getting that transfer ban next season then he will surely stay and sign a nice new and I mproved contract. Obviously not good for us in the slightest if it doesn't happen and he can't get his head straight and we end up losing him next year for nothing, purely depends on the transfer ban they will hopefully be getting I guess. Feel bad for De Gea how it's been handled but ultimately it's Madrids fault for leaving it all until the last day.

He doesn't appear to want to go anywhere other than Madrid but if they really aren't allowed to sign anyone until 2017 then he won't have much choice but to sort himself out and put up with playing for us on £200k a well, can't be that bad. I suppose it's obviously the safer bet for us if he goes and we get Navas but I for one ain't really bothered about us missing out on the transfer fee, it really isn't that much to United these days and if he ends up signing the new contract we will more than likely get a lot more off them in a few years.

I think there is substance to the Antoine Griezmann story and that it is very likely to happen.

Wiki says we signed Falcao on September 1st, so deadline day.

Nah, I mean what time on the day did he start to be linked with us? Because nobody really expected it and it took to midnight or past that even to get it done.

It will be hard getting a deal done though as window closes at 6pm. I don't expect it to be busy as previous years.

Cristiano is the best/ second best forward in the world (who Madrid tapped up for ages before signing him!). De Gea is the best/ second best GK in the world currently. De Gea won us a fair few points/games last year and would do the same for Madrid, I don't see your point here.

Madrid tap players up all the time and get away with it.

I just hope that if the transfer has failed, then Navas refuses to play for you again after the shabby way he has been treated by Madrid.

That way, we would both have players sitting in the stands who weren't focused on playing for the clubs they signed for.

I remember hearing about it in the morning.

I see it in a totally different way. It doesn´t matter if he is a top keeper or not, as didn´t matter with Kroos. The important issue for me is the length of the contract. Besides United wanted Ramos in the deal and didn´t accept the talks until he had renewed (last week). I agree that Madrid should have offered 35/40 weeks ago or decide to leave him for the next summer, but I also think that Van Gaal complicated the things, provoking the transfer when he said publicly that De Gea didn´t want to play. If he left the talks for the last days then he was pretty sure that would get Navas in return, for this I see it as a position of pride and not much about money.

We wanted a record transfer OR ramos.
If you offered 30m off the bat ... well we might not have accepted but at least it would be a starting point as opposed to a 12m bid, which was a non-starter.
They have no one to blame but themselves. (which goes for the feck up with the registration too by the looks of things)

The deal offered today was a good one and tbh i'll be a bit disappointed if it doesn't go through but i'll get over it.
We have a great keeper for the season and a year to find a replacement, hardly a disaster

How much you thought he was worth is pretty fecking irrelevant, its been clear from about 2 weeks into the window that we weren't going to accept anything short of the offer you made today.

My point is that compare what you would pay for Cristiano and De Gea is not fair , No one has ever paid 95m euro for a GK.
For his personality I can´t see Navas doing that, probably will get a lot of support in Bernabeu. I wonder how will be the reaction with Florentino. Anyway, the transfer still could happen for political issues between la Liga, Madrid and Villar

Looks like the move is off.

Real didn't get their shit done in time. Utd did.

But for me, it's United's fault for not getting this shit done much, much sooner.

I just hope DDG will fecking play well for us this season. Leave with head held high, win us some shit.

RM needs De Gea, not the other way round. Why leave till last day of transfer?

It's not our fault entirely, is it? Madrid made a decent bid from the start and this would be done.

Yeah we should have accepted whatever Madrid offered us to spare them the embarrasment of failing to complete the deal in time. Did you say this when it was coentrao too?

They didn't bid, how is it our fault?

Wow, people blaming us for doing this late. Woodward should have been camped outside Bernabeu knocking on their door every 10 minutes to ask whether they are making a bid that we can accept.

Very early on deadline day. Around 02:00GMT probably, there were reports from South America.
I remember everyone thinking "oh well, fecker's probably off to City", and then there was such excitement as the rumours got more and more solid.

In hindsight, wish he did feck off to City..... Sigh, imagine saying that about Falcao a year or two ago.... :(

Interesting that we spent all yesterday announcing departures. Can't think we're saving just one arrival for Deadline Day, not if we want to win the Social Media league
