So how do we exactly benefit from this?

We have a unhappy player that probably won't play
We don't have a (good) keeper to replace the player in question
The same player will leave on a free next season and cost us receiving €40m

Madrid don't exactly lose anything either from this. They get to keep a quality keeper and also save €40m. I don't get how it's so funny.

Real Madrid had opportunity to put in a reasonable offer for a while and decided to leave it until the last day. Probably pissed us off. I doubt the legitimacy of it though as I don't see how sending the Navas contract in one minute late means both fall through. Real can still sell players to English clubs until tomorrow so it makes no sense.

Because its all part of the same deal and if all parts of the deal aren't through in time then the rest is meaningless.

Which is exactly my point Damien. If we were pissed off, then refuse the deal. What is the point in submitting 1 min late for the troll sake of it? It's unprofessional to say the least.

Tell him if he doesn't sign then he doesn't play. And he'd want to play at the European championships next year.

Perez doesn't get his man.

Yeah, what makes it worse is LVG is not the type of manager to man manage a unhappy or distracted player either.

Can see this constant circus affecting us throughout the season as well.

Unless he somehow renews we lose more in this.

Yeah that will do alot of good for our reputation. I'm sure it will be easier to attract top players.

The other side to this is Real will have a keeper who knows he isnt wanted.

Navas must be well pissed off.

Great mind games!

Changed my vote on front page poll to 'what the hell is going on'
Only real option now isn't it lol

I still reckon Madrid will get DDG. You have to believe they have more than enough leverage and power in Spain to make sure it is taken care of. That being said, blame for this farce could go either way. If indeed we dragged our heels on this then shame on us. However, I think the far more likely scenario is that Madrid never made a proper offer until the end of deadline day. If they wanted their man so bad, just pony up like everyone else and make it happen.

Its amazing how this forum and Rawk are seeing this situation completely different.

The Caf - Masterstroke of trolling by Woodward.

Rawk - Shambolic feck up by the manks, Woodward should be sacked for incompetence.
Imagine how much better off they'd be if the Suarez deal didn't go through...

This is bollocks tbh. Feck DDG get the lad to madrid.

So if everything is time stamped and it's confirmed that the LFP got the papers at 1 minute past 12 how exactly can Real get round that? Are they going to argue that the clocks at LFP are wrong?

Seems like they're clutching at straws but it's worth a try for them I suppose.
