This is terrible by us IMO. Navas was probably the best replacement we could've found given the circumstances.

Worst comes to worst we can just go and blow our wads on another keeper tomorrow afternoon.

Real are left with Casilla and (I assume????) a very angry and dispirited Navas.

What's the consequences of this?
1. DDG doesn't sign a contract. We lose DDG at the end of the year on a free and buy Navas for a high price?
2. DDG doesn't sign a contract. We lose DDG at the end of the year on a free and buy someone else, ie Leno?
3. DDG signs a bumper contract , and we sell to Madrid, for a high fee. Buy Navas
4. DDG signs a bumper contract , and we sell to Madrid, for a high fee. Buy another GK.
5. He signs a contract and stays.

For me, its option 2 that's the most realistic.

Or Madrid shouldnt have left a deal they've had all summer to wrap up until the last possible second to leave it in a situation where us submitting our side of the paperwork late was an actual potential occurance.

But no, you're right, eveything's always entirely United fault, its so embarrasing. We're literally the worst club in the world. Monkeys could run our club better. I feel so ashamed to be a fan right now.
Very well said that man.

Oh stop worrying about what people are going to say about the club, they'd write shit about us anyway. How can you not enjoy this? This is hilarious!

No, I'm just tired of all these silly feck ups we seem to do nowadays. I like Navas & this would have been a good way to solve the De Gea/goalkeeper situation. For Real Madrid it's fine, they get De Gea for free next season. Navas & Casilla are good enough to contend for titles anyway. We get to keep De Gea against his will.

They'll spin it against us.

Which ever way it happens or doesn't, we are always going to be the ones who get the stick from all sides, its part of who we are now and we should revel in it in my opinion. Who cares what journalists and opposition fans have to say anyway?

How can the Navas paperwork not being submitted in time scupper the De Gea deal? Surely they're separate registrations - they might be part of the same negotiations, but the paperwork would be separate.Surely the only thing that could stop the De Gea deal would be a fault with the De Gea paperwork, not that of Navas.

Arewe doing something about these fake accounts? They're so fecking easy to spot 'SeriouslyMata' FFS

You have to ask what the hell is going on at our club though? I mean why would we do this on purpose at all, it's not professional in the slightest. Yet on the other hand...are we that useless at transfers that we can't get a deal wrapped up in time?

So which is it? Unprofessional, or incompetent?

No issues on Madrid's part then? I mean, if they valued him so much, how about actually showing it and getting this wrapped up weeks ago. How is it our fault?

Hang on how does this make us unprofessional and a laughing stock of a club?

Real did the exact same thing with Coentrao, they failed to get the details in on time and the deal fell through. No one was calling them a joke of a club etc. I know it's not as big a deal but they still did the same thing. Plus we don't know what's been happening behind the scenes. We could have several deals being done both in and out, there may have been technical issues, changes to the deal and so on.

Its amazing how this forum and Rawk are seeing this situation completely different.

The Caf - Masterstroke of trolling by Woodward.

Rawk - Shambolic feck up by the manks, Woodward should be sacked for incompetence.

How embarrasing, the plan was to wait until the last minute to get the best deal but all we have done is fecked it up. We now have a unhappy goalkeeper for rest of the season, no fee and no replacement for when he does leave. Are u feckin real United....

i'm sure there will be blame game from both sides, Madrid looks to blame us, we'll blame Madrid. Think our stance has been the same all summer though and Madrid waited this late to give us a deal we wanted to accept.

Either way, he'll leave next summer, maybe in Jan and maybe we'll have a replacement lined up to come in next window.

It's interesting that its because we didn't send Navas' contract in time, they were supposed to be seperate deals unless we insisted the Navas deal had to be concluded first.

Yeah, we should sack him for not selling to Real Madrid. They don't really understand it as they're a selling club.

Perfect, get him to renew with big release clause and tell him he can go in January no problem. Then we wait and see which superstar FSW pisses off the most at Real and take a major player off them as part of the deal....Woodies the don!

Romero our number 1 for the season, or do we keep Valdes or sign somebody tomorrow? De Gea probably to miss out on the Euros as Spain's number 1 unless he renews with us.

They are also probably laughing at us when he was being sold. And if not they'd have been laughing at us for something else.

The point is, you should never care what they think.

Real Madrid had opportunity to put in a reasonable offer for a while and decided to leave it until the last day. Probably pissed us off. I doubt the legitimacy of it though as I don't see how sending the Navas contract in one minute late means both fall through. Real can still sell players to English clubs until tomorrow so it makes no sense.

Fair enough, I'll just carry on laughing at the absurdity of the situation.

We have an extra day to register Navas, makes no sense that us being late to sign Navas should affect DDG transfer .
