All of which have been excellent this last 1-2 years? That what you are telling us?

I didn't say that. We had no potency up front, last year. We responded by getting rid off most of our attackers. We have had no potency in pre season, yet did nothing. This continued into the first four games of the league, and we've responded by buying a 19 year old nobody and selling more attackers.

So, our attacking options are Rooney (29), Wilson (20), Young (30), Mata (27), Depay (21) and Martial (19). In what world does this attacking unit win anything?

We've gotten rid off di Maria, van Perise, Nani, Hernandez, Falcao, Januzaj.

Even with all these players you listed, we wouldnt win anything.

So the two points being made are that (1) we should keep him and let him go on a free and that (2) we dont have enough time to get a replacement.

(1) No way we could keep him, he wanted out and helped engineer the move by making it clear he wasn't going to sign a contract and only wanted to go to Madrid. Completely weakened our position and whatever was said behind closed doors convinced LVG that he couldn't rely on him for matches. Compare that to how Ronaldo handled his exit, stayed one more year, signed a new contract and then went for a world record fee. Not saying DDG should have done the same but it just shows how much weaker United's bargaining position was due to his actions.

(2) In terms of getting a replacement, I am sure we'll have someone ready to come in. Probably Cillisen, maybe Navas but no doubt we wont have Romero as number 1 keeper, expecially after the second goal against Swansea. We probably were resigned to the fact DDG was going for a long time and had replacements sounded out.

To suggest this saga was amateurish really ignores the fact that DDG and Madrid had us over a barrel.

Yes they had us over a barrel and that was known for a long long time. It didn't suddenly come up yesterday. We may have a player identified but we will be getting that player at the last minute of the window. He will not be from our league and will thus need time to get acclimatized to the demands of the PL. He would need to get used to our players and try and establish an understanding with our back four. All this while the league is already underway. How is that a good situation? We should have (a) sorted it out much earlier or set a deadline for Madrid, (b). If the deadline passes, we should have played DDG in the CL knock out round and let him know he is staying. We were never looking to keep him and that is why all that talk of him not being in the right frame of mind. I think the club just wanted to show to the fans that we are top dogs but the fact is we have and will roll over for Madrid whenever they throw us a bone.

Christ, every man and his dog is using us for a bit of clickbait. If we keep DDG and sign Martial I'll be happy.

the hilarious thing about this is that UTD arguably need de gea more than brom need berahino and everton need stones.

hilarious.
Only in the respect that De Gea is world class and harder to replace. Berahino and Stones are bigger assets to their clubs relatively speaking because they don't have anyone nearly as valuable on the market (bar possibly Lukaku at Everton). Also, neither of those players is in the last year of their contracts.

Either way, I don't see why anyone would regard it as 'hilarious'.

Jorge Mendes has closed the transfer of the United Martial by 80M a while ago and currently works for close of Gea's Madrid

Funny, di Maria, RvP, Nani have all started brightly for their respective teams. Falcao has done something only one of our players has done is four games.

Realistically we have Rooney, who is crap, Young, and Mata. I don't expect much from the rest. That attack is at mid table level.

Still very light in attack imo, with the goalkeeping situation uncertain. Martial, for all of his potential (he must have a lot of it, going by that price tag) doesn't seem like much of an immediate upgrade on Januzaj and Hernandez, the first is apparently off on loan, the second has been sold. We haven't, on the face of it, actually improved with this signing. One more forward player is still needed before this window closes, a goalkeeper too -- with DDG, Valdes and Lindegaard all on the way out it seems. Poor planning for it to get to this stage.

Duncan Arseholes is aware that his precious Jose already made a bid for Martial earlier in the window right?

Yep for their respective teams in shite leagues, not for us under van Gaal. You know it too, they dont fit. Most of them showed it last season. This United is not the United of 5 years ago.
