Bayern were scared of us taking muller away (as if) and we told them 'fine we won't take Thomas away if you give us lewandowski' and they agree :p

Hmm does anyone else think that if it was Harry Kane it would have been all over the press by now? I can't remember ever signing anyone from Spurs that didn't become a saga.

I do actually think we will have a player or two lined up. Louis didn't deny anything when asked about additions to the squad and instead said 'we shall announce it when we want to', that alone gives me hope

So some journos are saying we'll definitely sign a striker. Others are saying selling Valdes and Evans is our only remaining business. It's clear that nobody knows shit about what's going on.

THIS. So much THIS. I'll be glad when that door shuts Tues. I am away and won't have to sit holding onto pointless hope.

Plenty of people saying we'll have a new striker. Nobody has any clue for who though. I've seen things for Lukaku, Ibrahimovic, Lewandowski, Benzema, Lacazette, Berahino, Muller, Cavani, Kane all this summer, yet what are the odds we'll get somebody not part of that group? Probably missing a few as well. None of them seem likely at all to get anyways. We'll see I guess in the next few days.

I don't get the people who are calling for Ibra. Yes, he's a fantastic player, but wasn't part of the reason we got rid of Van Persie because he lacked energy, i.e. running in behind, pressing, keeping defenders busy, etc? Ibra, as good as he is, won't give us that, and assuming Rooney would be dropped back to the 10, I don't think Ibra's style would suit his play.
Actually I think Ibra and Rooney would go brilliantly together. Both can be the one who drop deep or go forward, and Ibra is a huge physical presence and will bully any defender. Ibra won't be pressing like crazy or anything, but he has pretty much the best hold up play in the world, is a lethal finisher, can create something out of nothing for both himself and for others. In terms of strikers, ignoring age, he'd pretty much be the ideal striker for our set up (ignoring Messi who would be ideal for everybody). Lewandowski after him. But Ibra would be perfect here IMO. Just the only thing is him and Van Gaal don't like each other and neither are the types to put their differences beside them and focus on football.

Silly season has been quite annoying at times, but I'll miss it when it's gone. Really hope we get one more in. A top shelf player but not holding my breath. Seems pretty late unless it's activating a release clause.

Interested to see what this lad can do. Has the smallest wiki page i've ever seen and never heard of him before. Only 500k so could turn out to be a real bargain and if he's rubbish it won't matter.

Surprised he's not getting more of a chance with Albion to be honest. Seen him on a couple of occasions in Senior Cup competitions and he seems a top prospect for them.

ISL is held for about 2 months and will be over by December.

The fees are going to be a whole other level of mental next summer, aren't they? No wonder people feel disillusioned with the game, the money getting thrown around is crazy.

it's been slowly getting mental for a long time, for me the Sutton £5m to Blackburn one seemed to escalate it.

But it's getting to the point where it's completely pointless all the tv money and stuff going up, as insteada of safeguarding any clubs futures, we just have it all getting lashed on stupid fees.

"Nobody" players going for £20m does make me weep, it really does.

A Di Maria going for £60m, and that slow realisation that what should be a fee for a player who will become your by miles stand out player, is actually just an above average starter.

Charlie Austin heavily backed for a move to Norwich. Would be one of the most boring transfers ever.

Van Persie kept getting knocked off the ball and looked weak. Doubt it will be like that with Ibra

Will surprise U who's on their way out as well....
  • If what I've just been told is true, Man Utd will defo have a new number 9 in this window.

what an absolute trolling goon whoever this Goldstein bloke is

Andreas Valera has the inside track...

I like this guy's spirit, thinks a sh!tload of action is gonna happen at the last minute here!

De Gea out, Cillesen in, and a top striker in!?

All by Tuesday?! With a weekend/game/bank hol coming?

Wouldnt surprise me if it was Zlatan. Woody wants him, i can feel it.
Woody would have had him months ago if it was up to him. He's a big, big name. But Ibra and Van Gaal sounds like a powder keg waiting to go off.
