Milner was a good, smart signing. Ings...I'm not so sure about. Don't see him taking them to the next level, but at the same time, he's an improvement on the rest of the dross they have upfront.
Thing is, balo and sturridge are both much better and are both good strikers (sturridge not as good as they like to make out). They just don't fit in the same system together and brent completely failed to understand how to manage that knob balotelli.

Decent manager and few less injuries for sturridge and that could be a dangerous strike force.

I can a only assume ings is a replacement for lambert.

Ings still probably scores more than Balotelli, Lambert and Borini combined.

Worst case is he isn't all that and they sell him for a decent fee in a few years. It's not as if he's going to cost them CL football by being there. They've no chance anyway.

Ings I assume is there as support cast to Sturridge and in that regard, given the fee will not be much, is not bad option. If realistically they are not going to get a big name striker, it is better to at least get someone from backup choices soon.

It's very annoying the way they're discussing Sterling to us like there's even the smallest chance of it being a possibility. The last transfer between the 2 clubs was 1964 and I very much doubt there will be another one within the next 50 years either.

Watching the way he was against ROI yesterday because he was getting booed, don't want. Need players with some character. He runs like a girl as well.

It was pretty obvious that Ings was a level below our squad. I never understood why he was linked to us, a bit like Charlie Adam those summers ago.

Of the 'breakthrough' strikers last season, Ings was the least impressive. Well done Scousepool!

I don't know, he looked excellent against us at Old Trafford, can offer them the physicality they got Lambert for with more mobility and goal threat. Surely what they need more than anything is an actual focus up front? He's a good signing for them, no risk involved.

We were probably monitoring the situation but we were never going to replace RvP and Falcao with Ings.

Good times. With that, people used Fergie's quote about his corner kicks being worth £10m to fuel the rumours.

And all that was was classic Fergie screwing with Liverpool's transfer moves.

the thing

Mr. Castles we know this. There was a guy on Talksport yesterday, Chris Davies, who said he couldn't understand why he wants to go there, that the dressing room is a nest of vipers. Also the first mistake he makes the Atletico connection will be thrown in his face.

I don't think you read my post properly mate. Out of the breakthrough strikers last season, Ings scored 11 & assisted 4, Austin 18(8) and Kane 21 (7), although he did well, he was the least impressive of the 3 breakthrough strikers. Plain & simple.

Those were good times. I remember a long discussion on the Caf about Charlie Adam.
Same with Joey Barton for a time as well IIRC - those last 6 years Sir Alex refused to buy a senior central-midfielder really did take its toll

he's also going to be by far the cheapest.

There's no way you ban Duncan Castles and then continue to allow all that bollocks posted by Di Marzio and his pretend-journo cronies.

Castles is clearly quite antagonistic but he has sources and writes for reputable newspapers. Just don't post his opinions.
