Their article does say we apparently think it's more likely to happen next summer than this, and it's just part of the long term strategy to bring him over. If somehow true, it feels like the reverse of what Real Madrid where they butter up the player for a year and then bring him over. We seem to be trying to butter up the club
Impossible. Barcelona's president is risking jail time over his signing, there's no way he'll let him go.

Pini Zahavi is putting in some good work. An extra €75k to go on Neymar's contract extension.

Out of interest, is Neymar currently in negotiations to sign a new contact with Barca?
Normally, when these silly suggestions are made, we hear later that the player has re-negotiated and signed a new contact with existing club and that's the only reason I can think of, why these silly tweets/quotes/ideas are coming from.

I'm sure he won't go jail but they won't sell him. All that happened here is what I'm sure happens all the time, big club asks other big club if one of their players is available on the off chance and they say no.

It's not really Woodward or anyone at the clubs fault the media are making it seem like we are desperate for him

Of all the silly transfers we've been linked with Neymar is the silliest.

 This is ridiculous. So it's likelier he will move next summer when he has signed his brand new contract after using us to get an even bigger pay rise.

I see the 'e' word is out again. I was genuinely concerned we'd get to the deadline without anyone pronouncing us an embarrassment. That's a weight off.

According to the geniuses that are Custis and Jackson

We're the perfect club to use for these contract bluffs, everyone knows we're loaded but they can pretend it's because of our history and the chance to play in England so won't look like total mercenaries.

Yes, he is.

Media is going to play this one up nice and proper whereas we know there's almost no chance and are simply finding out if there is any possibility. Wont stop the OMG THEY MISSED OUT NEYMAR nonsense, because it's United and makes for a story

Don't let this Neymar rumor become a thing. Getting played for a new contract is becoming so common that it's amateur.

If Barcelona want to keep their best player (excluding Messi) then they will. Every single time. End of.

The Neymar stuff is nonsense. Agent-fuelled tripe from the Neymar end and a few journalists hungry to persist with the calamitous United narrative.

Best ignored.

This and the Müller one. Just that the Müller rumours went on for about 2 months.

At least with the Muller one we did have the Muller/LVG connection to fuel the stupidity somewhat. This is a step above that again.

The tools on Twitter won't ignore and will start making fake line-ups and re-tweeting it everywhere. That's why it's worthwhile them writing this utter bollocks.

"Neymar snubs United over fears Van Gaal hates Brazilians"

There's nothing wrong with article. The journalist is obviously reporting what he's been informed by "sources close to Neymar", however the Journalists don't seem to care that it's just a ploy to have his wages increased.

This is a case of nothing to see, keep moving.

Were clearly the biggest laughing stock in world football, we cant steamroll into Madrid and buy Ronaldo and Bale, Neymar and Messi from Barca, Muller from Bayern like Chelsea and City could do at a click of there fingers, are we even a big club anymore? is Rooney more concerned about his hair then his football? are we relegation candidates after the newcastle match? Are LVG and Ed Woodward completely out of there depth at United? Bale snubs United, Ronaldo will never return, Muller laughs off United link, click bait click bait click bait

- a day in the life of a United fan on Facebook

Really wish the club would come out and squash these silly rumours.

Sadly we can't as if we came out and quashed this rumour, everyone will ask why we won't quash another rumour... then if we quash all rumours and end up buying one of them... our word looks a bit daft and the rumours continue as ever.

What would be a better scenario is if people stopped believing everything they read and when it finally comes out that said player has earned his new contract they realise that it's actually them that has been "played and made to look stupid" rather than the Manchester United.

I don't have a problem with article either, but the narrative is pretty obvious. Jamie Jackson is very well aware that we have no real active in interest in Neymar, but column inches are important to him, hence this tenuous link on the back of a few words with some vaguely important person close to the Neymar camp.

This is the most glaringly obvious 'agent feeding press' transfer story you'll see all summer.
