Doesn't he mean to say "Man Utd in particular are now having a good laugh at this one"?
He couldn't cope with the pace of the Italian league. How do they think he will cope with the hustle and bustle of the PL?

Also I think the should just tell Ed to keep it shut. Bragging about big money signing, yet according to the press we are looking to buy in the bargain basement.

Since there is no Neymar thread

http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/9962340/united-trying-to-sign-neymar

At 2:20 look at Custis face when the Neyamr transfer is brought up, he knows it's bullshit!

To be fair the journalists here, they also state there's no problem with United enquiring about Neymar. I don't think the Neymar story is bullsh*t, think we're genuinely trying to sign him for a shed load of money with the selling point (as stated in the video) being that Neymar will be the main man here (team wise and money wise).

As @Getsme states, there are many fools (all over twitter etc.) who believe the sh*te spouted by certain journalists, which only causes the, so called, journalists to write another bullsh*t story. The Circle of transfer speculation. You read, they write.

We must definitely sign a big name to give everyone around the club a boost after selling Di Maria. We need someone like Reus or Griezmann. :)

Does seem a little backwards to sell RVP and replace him with Zlatan

I'd like us to buy a big name just to rub it in those journalists faces who are trying to bash Woodward at every oportunity.

You talk as if it's some kind of anti-United bias.

Woodward's ability to get deals done is rightly being questioned given the Pedro debacle. Too many big players targeted and not enough signed. It's starting to get embarrassing.

Oh come on,again that embarrasing stuff. Big names aren't exactly easy to bring in. If he doesn't try he's guilty,if he tries it he's again guilty.

The problem for me is I am not sure it was a debacle. We only have the papers and twitter know nothings word on what was really happening. I am not convinced there was any real interest from us.

Is you believe everything the papers say. Getting embarrassing, have a word with yourself will ya.

What's embarrassing is chasing a player for weeks, being close to a deal then "falling asleep" (according to said player's agent) while your rivals come in at the 11th our and do a deal in no time flat.

It's obviously not easy signing top players but he's done himself no favours talking about marquee names and big signings and not delivering.

It's easy, and fair for the press to ask why other clubs can get deals done and United, despite having bucket loads of money, can't.

Ollie Holt has previous of being an utter ABU twat, doesn't he

Yep, I find him a complete tool. Got shown up a short while ago by saying United had sold their soul by spending money and selling Welbeck etc. Then somebody on twitter pulled up an article from him from a few months previous saying we can't claim to be a big club unless we splash the cash. Prat.

We have got deals done, what the feck is wrong with our fans

I'm sorry, I'm not having that. His agent pretty much said we wanted him.

The reason we get posts like that is because the last time we bought a player was 1 month and 10 days ago. To please the fans we should have spread out the signings of Darmian, Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger over the course of that month to keep the muppets happy. Feck it, we should have just signed Depay last week instead of back in May.

We'd have an unfit squad that hasn't gelled properly yet but at least we would be making regular signings!

He would do that though. It's common practice now. It gets the sale done quickly.
I reckon we did enquire about him but there was nothing concrete.

I don't. But to think everything you read is rubbish is naive to say the least.

Easy to bury your head in the sand. The facts are the last two summers we've not done what we needed in terms of player recruitment leaving it to the last minute. This summer has been better - but we're still short at least a striker and have the De Gea situation hanging over the club.

Yeah I don't get this either, it's almost as if people have completely forgotten the signings we've already made. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. Whether it was LVG changing his mind or Pedro deciding to go to Chelsea instead, it happens. I'd hardly call it "embarrassing" as has been thrown around a lot on here. We're obviously being very particular in what we want.

So it's all s pack of lies and we never wanted him then? Ok. If that's what you think there's no point having a discussion about it.

Woodward seems to be doing a top job in your opinion then - fair enough. I disagree.

Of course his agent is a paragon of virtue, and would never hint at something even slightly dishonest.

It's a noble calling, indeed.

The player has moved, he's been paid, where's the agenda? What's in it for him to suggest United were interested if they weren't?

More likely for me that he's been asked a question and answered it.

He is doing a good job. We signed Darmian who looks like a very good player. We signed Schneiderlin who will be great for years. Schweinsteiger adds experience and is looking good, too. Memphis is an exciting prospect who has already shown promise.
Yes, I am happy.

I think you've hit the nail on the head.

Yes, I am happy.

We're light up front and out wide and may yet lose a top class keeper. And we've got a midfielder playing centre back.

The players who've come in improve us. We still need more to compete over a 50 game season. Chelsea and City have better squads. Arsenal are a striker short of having a better squad for me.

How could United "fall asleep" when everyone reported Woodward was in Barcelona the day before Chelsea signed Pedro? It's clear LvG had a change of heart and with Memphis and Januzaj playing so well the night before in the CL. It's also clear United couldn't give Pedro the game time he desired so much, and was the only reason he left Barcelona. It's obvious LvG has seen that a winger isn't his main priority. It's also worth pointing out yet again that LvG had publicly said he had concerns over Pedro's pace, and his age. I fully believe United were interested, but that interest clearly cooled. As LvG said, "he had a release clause, and would have been easy to get" Or words to that effect.

Woody can't win and can't do right for wrong, it seems.

So we did want him, then we didn't?

Yeah, that is perfectly feasible. It happens all the time.

Ah leave the muppets they are never happy. If Woody does the transfers late like last year he is quilty becase we dropped points when new players weren't here or were adapting, now when he did the job early muppets going crazy because we are possibly done in the market and others are buying new players.
Woody simly can't win in this fight.
