Why? Makes sense if City is signing Otamendi. Also, as I understand there's some relationship/connection between City and Valencia/Peter Lim

I can't see City letting Mangala go, MDM is a more likely departure.

:lol::lol::lol:

I'm on the floor until further notice

I'm itching to know how the BBQ went.

Are the Spanish population feeling it this morning? I imagine whichever tectonic plate is underneath Spain is feeling it too.

I don't think any club chooses not to buy mendes' clients. He has a lot of talents. Only Teams like Barcelona avoid it. Wenger has not bought too but that's because Wenger hasn't really spent a lot on players before Ozil and Sanchez.
I thought I read recently (on this site,) that Barca, Bayern and Arsenal all make a point of avoiding him. If true, then I'd love to see us do the same.

Why avoid having some of the best talents in the game because his agent is seemingly a bit of a tit. Cutting our noses off to spite our faces doesn't seem the most logical thing to do.

Barca I think they have a no mendes policy because of his relation with Madrid. Arsenal I don't think has any such principle. They tried to sign Ronaldo if I'm not wrong when he was in sporting. If they need a player I really doubt Wenger will care about mendes or not. As it is, most of the other top agents like raiola or even stretford are also no better

Oh they're all cretins, no doubt. What's unsettling with Mendes is the level of influence he appears to have on some teams' personnel decisions. Raiola seems like a grade A thunder cnut, but I'm not sure he has the same level of influence (I could be wrong though.)

I thought we had distanced ourselves from Otamendi? If Balgue is reporting it then there must be something in it, he doesn't just tweet to get replies and retweets or views.

I don't think teams really mind tbh. Mendes buys local talents and sells them to teams like atletico and Valencia and Porto for a relatively smaller amount. The teams get such talents, the players help them win for 2-3 years before a bigger team buys them for a heavier profit. They then get another player from him.

Our problem is that we can't really take risks fearing they may end up like Bebe. But there are also Players like falcao, James, Di Maria etc. so most small teams don't mind his influence I think

22M on pedro or 46m+ on de bruyne (wolfsburg apparently asking for 50m)

The choice is obvious, as much as people rate him kdb is still a risk considering he couldn't impress in the prem and has found his feet in a easier league to play in. Reports also say kdb won't hand in a transfer request and will only go if the club wants to sell so it's getting tricky.

i mean that would be city spending 100m on two players both earning over 200k per week. That's madness for the books and I can see why they would favour pedro.

Yeah, you're right, the choice is obvious. And it's kind of hard to impress in a league when the manager has no confidence in you and plays you in only three matches.

So it seems as though we're battling city for two players now. Whoever wins these battles could have the advantage between the two sides the coming season.

You mean like Rodwell and Sinclair? Sorry Bob, couldn't resist.

Fair enough point if Rodwell and Sinclair had also developed into players worth £50m after we sold them, but they haven't. Besides, Rodwell was given plenty of chances under Mancini, it was injuries that ruined his career with City.

I'm inclined to believe this. The only reports linking us with Pedro are coming out of Spain, I've not seen one English journalist say anything about it. We're still pursuing de Bruyne so have no reason to bid for Pedro as things stand, and certainly not above his supposed release clause.

I think it goes without saying that a manager is going to use his first team keepers in the first team preparation for an upcoming match, to be fair.

DDG is already a massive story, I'm not sure why people feel the need to exaggerate even further. He's training with the reserves because, otherwise, he'd be twiddling his thumbs whilst the keepers for tonight actually trained.

All of these people yapping on twitter about De Gea's situation. LVG said he won't be considered until September the first - because of Madrid. David has no one to blame but himself and perhaps Madrid for not paying the money for him. I don't think it matters if it's with the first team or reserves. The fact is it's a distraction and better removed out of the group. David knows why he's in this position.
