Don't think Otamendi seems to be happening. I think we'll go all-out for Kane and trigger Pedro's release clause.

I thought the Otamendi hopes had sprung up again the last couple of days, I just can't see Spurs selling Kane this close to the end of the window, he'll be the big summer transfer next time if he has another good season.

Oh I didn't realise about the Otamendi thing, hoping I'm wrong. I'm just going by the supposed bid we made for Kane, I think we'll get him eventually though, seems nailed on for United if he continues this good form.

I think we'd probably like to add Kane this summer but Spurs are awful to deal with and I think we'll need another year to work on Levy to get that one done.

Inter.... If they sold him for 12 million pounds and have to pay Bayern 15 millions euros, by my calculations they pocket 2 million euros give or take, after 6 months.

Inter aren't getting any money from my interpretation of the deal. They signed Shaqiri on loan with an obligation to buy and I think that obligation has now been fulfilled by Stoke.

Inter were seriously looking to sell Shaqiri and didn't involve him in pre-season, I'd be amazed if they somehow profited from all of this.
Fine but the original post I had replied to said inter were taking a Hit. Not sure how they are taking a hit if they have sold him to Stoke for 12 million pounds

So you admit you can't think of a single player his calibre who would go for 22, but it isn't a bargain?
Yes. There's no one of his level I can think of who is available and his price is the correct one. Why is that hard to digest?

luckhurst on twiiter saying united fans are jumping to conclusions over pedro announcements.

Firstly your logic is flawed or 1 billion for Ronaldo at 31 would be bargain.

And anyway don't wanna get into this debate as to who else could be bought because there are several across positions that can be. And price depends on several factors.

And it's kind of dejavu as similar arguments were used last summer to show how 56 million for Di maria was bargain and How Sanchez was levels below when his fee brought up(who himself went for par and is level and bit above Pedro). Though difference also being while Di maria was overpaying, 22 mill for Pedro is more par.

Dont know if its a bargain or not but £22 million for Pedro is a fine price. A deal to raise a smile at least.

22 million for Pedro certainly isn't a bargain. Probably par.

£22 million is less then Lallana, Firmino, Cuadrado, Benteke, Sterling, Willian, Oscar and Jackson Martinez all cost.

I think its fair to say, that in comparison to those, its a bargain.

So who gets the rest of the money?

Inter were seriously looking to sell Shaqiri and didn't involve him in pre-season, I'd be amazed if they somehow profited from all of this.

Shaqiri signed a 4 & a half year deal with Inter in Jan this year - he wasnt on loan.

I said to you Chaddy, that Inter took a hit in selling him to Stokes, because Bayern were gettin most of that fee. I dont know much about it, but it seemed like a kick in the teeth for Inter, but maybe Inter hadnt paid Bayern yet for Shaqiri & now they get their money, or something like that..

ohh i get your point of view now. thought you meant they were losing money. appologies

Why's everyone excited? I thought we knew he wanted to leave Barcelona, I was pessimistic cause it sounds like we're not that interested.

..and our own Fellaini - who cost nearly £28m. Great signing he turned out to be last year for us though.

In summarising - of course it's a bloody bargain. Some folk on here really dont rate Pedro, which is truly unbelievable. He'll light up OT..

Yep. Opinions will soon change though.

That makes sense but to find a flaw in my logic you had to use an anomoly.. Point is if £20m usually buys you X in todays market then Pedro>£20m
