I know, I know. I ask too much.

on a serious note though, the opening day is often a sluggish start with odd results. you often get the newbie teams starting well, or champions slowly coming out the blocks.

getting a win when not playing that well...well we know what they always say about that.

Chelsea and Arsenal would take our start!

Arsenal should be especially gutted, losing what is probably historically over the last 15 years, the biggest home banker in the season.

That's a frightening thought

But they have glass man kompany, awful mangala, a zabaleta in decline and two left backs who they can't decide which one is worse so they just alternate between them and hope for the best. Two very average central midfielders in fernando and Fernandinho and toure who will play if he is bothered. Don't see them as much better than last year, if at all.

Supposedly nobody has won the PL if they have lost the first game of the season, according to Talksport. Another season of waiting for Arsenal?

Pedro being delayed by a few days isn't the end of the world surely?

I really do think that not playing de gea right now is kinda pushing him away.

Hopefully he starts next week. The fans will 100% back him.

I'll not boo him but I certainly won't be cheering him. I think he's shit on us big time!

Well they're the same team as last year + Sterling and possibly De Bruyne. How can that not be better?

Man City did not have trouble scoring last season.

It's their centre midfield and defence which were the problem. And they have not that resolved that.

Because their weakness wasn't up top. Scored loads last year and will do this year. Haven't solved their problems.
And Sterling and De Bruyne are not exactly worldly signings IMO.
Expensive? Yes. Scary? Nah, not for me.

He can take whatever stance he wants, fact is Madrid always get their way when we're involved.

And it's not really a great move.

I hated when people praised Levy for doing this. Dragging a transfer until late August then rushing out buying players overpriced just for a sake of a few million saved.

Or in the case of Berbatov, not buying anybody and getting Fraiser Campbell on loan.

I think people need to look past De Gea as a player and our goalkeeping situation and realise how important it is to us as a club that we have a strong image and show that we are not a club Real can bully into handing over our best players while they still have contracts with us.

It sets a precedent for the future, they're much less likely to start tapping up our players and try forcing transfers from us and will hopefully look elsewhere. They may get him next season for free but it's a dick measuring contest for Perez, he needs to show the fans that as a president he can buy whoever he wants. Being told to feck off by United really isn't good for his image. Neither is conceding players you'd rather keep, even if it's only for another season for the sake of a few million we don't need.

I agree. I would tell Real that we intend to play De Gea in the Champions League qualifier and if they want him this season meet our price.

Some reporter from Le Parisien reporting that we've bid 45 million euros for Cavani.
IS Cavani really that bad as some posters here are saying. I watched PSg a few times and he was hit and miss but i so i don't know if i would want him or we are better to avoid him.
If he is not improvement on Rooney i don't see why we shoud go for him, Hernandez and Wilson are good backups.

He's not as bad as people are on here saying he is.

But he's not worth the prices being touted. It would be embarrassing if we pay anything similar to what they paid for Di Maria. £30m tops he is worth.

I dont think he is that bad..he was quite good for Napoli, but every big game since then that people have seen him, be it for Uruguay or PSG, he has been so poor..and that would be close to 10 or more games considering the UCL, world cup and Copa america.

Because the fans will boo you if you have another season like last year.

Theres nothing wrong with Cavani. If it wasnt for Zlatan he probably would be PSGs top attacker last few years.
If we can get him for €45m, it's a fair deal. Where is he going to play though? Rooney must play at all times, so he can't be dropped. 4-4-2 maybe?

Romero
Darmian - Smalling - Blind - Shaw
Mata - Schneiderlin - Schweini - Depay
Rooney - Cavani

I've never been a big fan of Cavani, even when he was at Napoli and everyone rated him. Having said that, I think we badly need more firepower as we'll be screwed of Rooney gets injured. Honestly, if we lost Rooney to a bad injury then our season would be in tatters, and I'm not even convinced of Rooney's performances these days.

Maybe for 30 mil euros..if you have noticed the trend this window, we are not allowing ourselves to get mugged over paying for fees..He hasnt been worth 45 mil in a long time...long time.

So Rado's word cannot be taken, or the Ben Stillers'movies are unmissable classics that will improve my quality of life?

Neither.

But Ben Stiller has done of plenty of good films. Anyway, back to shit tweets.

56 goals in 96 matches at PSG isn't worth €45m? It definitely is in my book. He isn't a top class player, although we do need a goalgetter like him. Not saying he should be our top target as I would rather see us go for a winger like Fekir or Pedro, but we don't have many options left.

Decent scoring charts to be fair, especially in ligue 1..but his perfomaces in the UCL leave much to be desired..I also dont believe we should be paying that much for a 28 year old..we need to improve our scouting.
