You're probably better off

Spot on. May be painful for some, but it has to be done.I think people need to look past De Gea as a player and our goalkeeping situation and realise how important it is to us as a club that we have a strong image and show that we are not a club Real can bully into handing over our best players while they still have contracts with us.
It sets a precedent for the future, they're much less likely to start tapping up our players and try forcing transfers from us and will hopefully look elsewhere. They may get him next season for free but it's a dick measuring contest for Perez, he needs to show the fans that as a president he can buy whoever he wants. Being told to feck off by United really isn't good for his image. Neither is conceding players you'd rather keep, even if it's only for another season for the sake of a few million we don't need.
He's like Adam Sandler-like for me if that makes sense..but then Ive lost out on so many pop culture references through that..anyhow, thanksYou're probably better off

You're definitely better off, I can't stand him but I have seen that one. He's like Adam Sandler-like for me if that makes sense..but then Ive lost out on so many pop culture references through that..anyhow, thanks
You think he's that good ?KDB to City could be a gamechanger.
I agree with this but to stand firm then not play him just seemed to undo all that work. If we were not going to play him then we should have got this out of the way. Might just be me but I think we've weakened our hand by not playing him. Up until that point, I think we've played exactly as we should have for the same reasons you list.
Silva, De Bruyne, Sterling and Aguero. Christ.
I'll take your word for it then..You're definitely better off, I can't stand him but I have seen that one.
I just saw Sky's reporting on KDB and it's not as rosey as that twitter account made it out to be. You can't really trust club fans reporting their own transfer news, it all has an agenda.
Sky reported that Wolfsburg told them it's 99.9 percent certain he will stay. He hasn't asked to leave but Sky Germany expect some kind of progress either way before window closes.
The way those tweets have been strung together it sounds like the progress is about the big bid that is incoming tonight.. As reported by the Telegraph.
Totally different
You are relentlessIf City get De Bruyne and Arsenal get Benzema we might as well just accept 4th this season and be done with it.
You are relentless
I really thought that we had when LVG announced this( lost our bargaining position)..but listening to what LVG has said and reading that article, Im not so sure anymore. It appears that we will not play de Gea until Madrid either offer the cash we want or the end of the transfer window..after that he can come back for contention..its the De Gea camp now that has to play its hand..and it appears that it has, with him apparently regaining his "focus"We've done no such thing.
What you are suggesting is that it is our intention to get as much money as possible out of him. I disagree, I think it's our intention to keep him here past the transfer window and that situation isn't going to change whether we choose to play him or not.
De Gea has apparently asked to be allowed to play again and said his head is in the right place. Contrast that with the Sterling saga and you can see the strength of the position we are in. I think we are just waiting for the transfer window to close and the distraction to go away so he can focus on the task in hand.
I'm sure equally pessimistic fans of theirs said similar when we signed Di Maria and Falcao. If City get De Bruyne and Arsenal get Benzema we might as well just accept 4th this season and be done with it.
Remember what you said last year not long after we signed Falcao, Di Maria etc..Its true though. It would put our attack, and the money we've spent, to shame.
In the end it didn't work outFinally got to see the kind of team LVG is trying to build, and I have to say, it was very impressive indeed. Not just the performance, but the manner in which we played. Far to many times over the past few years the players (mainly the old guard) look like they're being forced to play at gunpoint, and would rather be anywhere else but on the pitch, trying to get through it with as minimal effort required. Today though, every single player looked like they were loving it out there, and giving 100% throughout. Looked to have a real team spirit about them as well, with Mata, Di Maria, Rojo and Herrera forming some sort of bizzare love triangle already
Anyways what were people's thoughts then of the LVG's United?
By not playing him but the fans still chanting his name during the Spurs game he now knows the sort of reception he'll get if he sticks around for another season. He probably has less apprehension about being here this season now.I agree with this but to stand firm then not play him just seemed to undo all that work. If we were not going to play him then we should have got this out of the way. Might just be me but I think we've weakened our hand by not playing him. It's called a square pal
True, but hey at least we'll have a CL spot.If City get De Bruyne and Arsenal get Benzema we might as well just accept 4th this season and be done with it.
Not like you to be so painfully negative, Sam.If City get De Bruyne and Arsenal get Benzema we might as well just accept 4th this season and be done with it.

There's cups half full and cup's half empty.
You just have a cup.
Ffs
There's a difference between being negative and being realistic.
As I've said many times, we'll finish ahead of Spurs/Liverpool/Southampton, and quite comfortably at that. But we don't have enough goals in the team to compete with the teams above us. Even less so if they add two more quality players to their already strong attack.
Deep down, you all know it too.
Depressing times.
Another 4th place battle on our hands. If we get Pedro maybe we'll be 3rd but that's a big maybe.
we got a goal yesterday don't you know, what more do you want?
You want more than 1 shot on target? Greedy bastad!
