Told that stories of Van Persie being close to Lazio move are highly, highly, speculative

Is it just me or is the media's coverage worse than ever before this summer ?

According to Metro - we have agreed deals for Schneiderlin, Alves and Gundogan. I wouldn't be surprised if none of them are at O.T in 2 months (even if I would love for them to be correct)

Previously - they have linked this and this and this player to various clubs - but this year it's "deal agreed" "deal to be announced" etc...

Yep, in line with Talk Sport & Sky Sports News, desperately filling airtime & column inches with transfer speculation, justifying their existence (salaries), with endlessly regurgitated rumours & rubbish

@CheGiaevara
Marca reporting today that Real Madrid have told Keylor Navas that they are counting on him and that he'll stay at the club.

So:-

1. De Gea is staying.
2. Casillas is leaving.
3. They'll have 3 GK's
4. Marca bullshitting to put pressure on DDG.

Inter are reportedly after Manchester United's Nani, while closing in on Felipe Melo and Kondogbia.

The Nani story is according to the Independent, while the Melo/Kondogbia one reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport.

Some of the links seem to be more than just idle speculation from lazy journo's.. I'm pretty sure that ADM will stay but I'm positive his people are behind the rumors.. PSG gain nothing by claiming they're after him, neither do we, and journalists persist with such rumors when they are briefed by someone. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have ADM stay regardless of whether his agent is behind these rumors.

Considering the difficult season he's endured, I don't blame him for testing the waters to see if a move is possible. Plus, the PR spin on this is great for him too, as the more he says he's staying in public, the better for him too..

I see the logic in that but there's a good chance it's just tabloid fluff too. They love to have a United story, so he's the obvious target as he's a big name foreigner who's had a poor season.

Just leads to Newspaper links to transfer rumours regarding them, but seems rather odd to be mentioning other teams players by name on your Offical Twitter feed. Some form of tapping up going on?

No not really. Manutd.com has a rumour section as well for example.

Nah, tonnes of clubs do it. Easy way to gain followers/retweets, especially during the summer months when there's less to say

@SkySportsAmy
Sources: Cleverley is having a medical at #EFC after agreeing 5 yr deal. He's expected to sign today but Villa still trying to sign him

Typical Cleverley. Can never make his mind up on what he's supposed to do

Well Casillas thinks Madrid have told him they want him to stay and he says he's staying.

Will be interesting if United meet Madrid in next years Champions League.
Our 9 wingers, Phil Jones and Rooney to take on their 4 goalkeepers and 7 attacking midfielders.

AS: Cristiano set to play in the number ‘9’ role in Benitez’s starting XI.

''This will impact mainly on Karim Benzema, who is expected to be used in the rotation policy that Benitez intends to employ next season.''

If true, Benzema could be available this summer. Maybe there's something to these rumours after all.

Would be great having Benzema but who gets dropped for him? "Rooney is captain and has privileges".
I doubt he'd even consider leaving Real so should he be forced out I'm sure he would want to be first choice CF wherever he ends up.

Given that Benzema is a particular favourite of Perez's, I can imagine Benitez being (secretly) undermined by his own President if Rafa rotates Benz.

I don't know if United have started linking it on twitter, but our official site has the transfer news/rumours section going for few years now. They report all the players rumoured in as well as out and the sources. Then of course they add the disclaimer that this is what media is saying and are neither club's views nor means endorsement of the news.

It would make sense to Rafa's to play Ronaldo upfront and Bale behind him. That's why the rumours of Benzema leaving make sense to me.

I'm hoping Depay will be a first team starter and for me Rooney is simply not that good a number 10. I know those three could interchange in your line up but with only Herrera and Schneiderlin I'd see us being a bit soft.
All speculative I know but I'd rather keep Wayne as our forward and play three midfielders.

He could play as a second striker, being in the hole doesn't equate to being a #10.

Nobody rotates for Ronaldo. You just watch greatness from the bench all year.

Rooney isn't good enough to play number 10. He can be back up to Benzema.

The reality is that Rooney is going to be first choice as either a striker or #10. Any theoretical formations that have him on the bench are fairly invalid.

Rooney isn't going to be backup to anybody. And he's better than Benzema anyway (yeah, I'm awaiting countless laughing smilies).

Your last sentence won't save you, Rooney isn't better than Benzema, I highly rate Rooney but Benzema is slightly better because of his technical regularity, Benzema won't let you down during the creative phase of an action when Rooney frequently will, Benzema is also better at linking up with all the players around him.

Sky sources: Liverpool will NOT sell Raheem Sterling to Manchester United.

no shit.
