Apart from the Nani bit, or was that mentioned last week as well?

It was yes I believe so. Nani said he wouldn't play for any other team in Portugal though, so its clearly bollocks

Fairly certain the Nani bit was mentioned as well, i recall that was why he went out and said that he couldn't see himself play for another Portuguese team than Sporting?

Last year everyone was saying Di Marzio is very reliable and one of the better informed journo's. Now he is saying what a lot of people don't want to hear and all of a sudden he is unreliable and rubbish.

Everyone's saying he's unreliable about this because what he's saying is absolute bullshit, it doesn't really matter what he has or has not got right previously. He's just copying a report from Portugal, from a paper who've claimed we've signed Gaitan at least 8 times over the last 3 years, for a deal that hinges on us selling Di Maria, who's said he's not leaving, or trading Nani to a Portugese team he has patently said he will not play for.

Even Gaitan rubbished those rumours  Di Marzio.... He should say if he is quoting another source, now it is his reputation taking hit.

I wasn't.
Yeah, I never got why he was held in such high esteem. He did - and apparently still does - have 'sources' and information from every major league around, with many never coming to fruition.

Speaking after Benfica’s 2-1 victory over Maritimo in the final game of the Portuguese domestic season, Gaitan said, “I’m used to talks of Man United, I’ve heard about for the last 5 years. No one has talked to me. I’ve a contract here.

“I’m used to talks of Man United, I’ve heard about for the last 5 years. No one has talked to me. I’ve a contract here.

“If it was my last game in a Benfica shirt? Yes, for this season. I haven’t received any offers, neither yesterday or today.”

Oh, thought he said something recently ;)

Even though Di Maria is saying he wants to stay, all the noise in the press about him leaving has to be either his agent or mufc.. And i personally think its from his agent.. Seems like he doesnt mind leaving if someone's ready to pay up imo but at the same time keeping a good rapport with fans since the odds are he will stay..

Sort of shocked that none of these lazy journalists or papers have linked RvP with a return to Arsenal.

Why does it have to be his agent or mufc? Can't it just be speculation, like most of the articles are? Di Maria has never never said otherwise than that he wants to be here untill he goes back to Argentina. I never believed he wanted out, some poor form doesn't mean that he wants to leave.

There are very few clubs who could even afford him, Bayern Munchen, RM and probably some English clubs. None of them seem realistic. I don't think PSG will pursue him, they already went after cheaper option Memphis and are limitted by FFP. If they pay anything close to what we've paid with the current Euro they couldn't strengthen elsewhere, don't think they'll do that.

In the past few weeks. He has mentioned Alves to PSG(which has been rubbished by Alves and PSG. Mentioned Pogba and Verratti to Madrid(which again have been rubbished by Madrid's official website). People are saying he's unreliable because he's not getting his sources right for whatever reason.

Some of the links seem to be more than just idle speculation from lazy journo's.. I'm pretty sure that ADM will stay but I'm positive his people are behind the rumors.. PSG gain nothing by claiming they're after him, neither do we, and journalists persist with such rumors when they are briefed by someone. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have ADM stay regardless of whether his agent is behind these rumors.

Considering the difficult season he's endured, I don't blame him for testing the waters to see if a move is possible. Plus, the PR spin on this is great for him too, as the more he says he's staying in public, the better for him too..

Is it just me or is the media's coverage worse than ever before this summer ?

According to Metro - we have agreed deals for Schneiderlin, Alves and Gundogan. I wouldn't be surprised if none of them are at O.T in 2 months (even if I would love for them to be correct)

Previously - they have linked this and this and this player to various clubs - but this year it's "deal agreed" "deal to be announced" etc...

Rejoice it just means we are running a tight ship this time around. No one outside those in charge at United knows our intentions but the journalists just can't afford not to write stuff about us.

The Metro isn't a proper newspaper with on the beat journalists.

It should be a banned source on here, to be honest. It's a free newspaper, and the people that work there rehash the news from other sources, wherever the may be, and put them into their own copy. That's why they are saying we've agreed deals with aforementioned players, using foreign media as the initial source. They're fine to do that, it's the reason the newspaper is free.

They don't have contacts, they don't have the money to ensure they do have contacts and they will never break a story because that isn't the purpose of the newspaper, both logistically and financially.

Basically, blacklist Metro.

Hopefully after the upcoming internationals things will start moving, I do agree though the media are so desperate at the mo as nothing is happening at all, anywhere.
When do we go on tour?

Oh I agree with you - I just used them as an example. I just can't remember even the most ridiculous websites being so "sure" about transfers as they have been this summer

I believe Duncan Castles works for them too, enough said.
