So £28 million. If adm doesn't want to be at united and is that unsettled (not saying he is), at what point do we sell him? If hes going to be miserable and as a result shit, do we not want rid? While i agree £28m is not enough, at what point do we realistically say yes for a player who is potentially unsettled, doesn't want to be here, and wants to move to psg?

If we refuse the sale we might have him for another season, but he could affect team spirit, not contribute and cost us a fortune in wages.

Again i'm not saying i would sell him for £28 million, but if all the above is true, at what point is the loss acceptable?

Loan him out to PSG, let them carry the wages.:D

Why is everyone getting on their high horse about £28m? It says that's what they've offered, we haven't accepted it

£28m was apparently their opening bid why is everyone getting in a fuss over it like we'd actually accept that?

Van Gaal warns De Gea he may be on the bench next season | @Ian_Ladyman_DM http://dailym.ai/1MvVXW2

‘I have of course spoken with Sergio and also with David,’ said Van Gaal. ‘With me always the best shall be in the line-up. So you have to fight for that place. With the threat that David de Gea is going to Real Madrid, we had to prepare our season.

‘I think Sergio can fulfil that because you have to handle quickly what may happen with David. I think he is a very good choice. I hope he can have a contribution to our selection and I have confidence he can.’

With Di Maria not turning up will he recieve a fine? 28 million is a joke. If we accept that we need to seriously look at our selling strategy. Luiz is dross and he cost way more.

Wonder how much we'd get for Di Maria if we were selling him...

Probably make a profit on him if it were to PSG.
You would make PSG pay 60 million pounds and would get half their supporters to be converted to your fan base as a token of good-faith ;)

Absolutely nowhere does he warn de Gea he'll be on the bench next season. Ridiculous headine

What a title.
Of course he didnt say that nor meant it. He said we must be prepared if DDG leaves.

Errr are you guys going to ignore this bit:

Or even this part...

De Gea is expected to play against PSG here in Chicago on Wednesday.

Having complained of a mystery back injury earlier in the tour, the Spanish international will only be picked by Van Gaal for the Barclays Premier League opener against Tottenham on August 8 if he is thought to be fully focused. It is understood that there is some doubt about that at the moment.

It wouldn't surprise me to be honest

In fairness he's second hand and we've taken the wrapper off

There's no such thing in football and he's just had a good CONCACAF cup too. He's still worth the full fee we paid. Add to that that PSG want him and made it public for over a year.

He says a lot of things. And the best is DDG so he'll be in the lineup. Absolutely no chance Romero will be nr. 1 if DDG stays.
But we have a new theme to talk about now unfortunately.

Jackson is traveling with the team through the US tour. Why on earth would anyone want him banned.
Because he is a bullshitter who only wants to troll us. He knows nothing. Just look last year in Di Maria case.

Troll? Grow up.

This isn't Duncan Castles scenario.

If we ban Jackson. We should ban Odgen, Ladyman and Ducker then. Or just ban all journos.

We should not ban people who are in close contact with club officials on a daily basis.

We should just ban tweets altogether.

If he's going to bench De Gea what the hell was the point of keeping him and losing him for nothing at the end of the season when we could have got good money for him?

Presumably to use such a threat as leverage ahead of the Euros next summer to convince him to sign another deal?

Ahh my bad then.

But his release clause is still 150M, but they have a deal in principle that he can go for 30, right?
Couldn't say to be honest. I imagine it is lower now and would appear that a deal is close. Obviously depends on ADM leaving so I would imagine Pedro will be a United player.

Or we could just downplaying our interest.

Balague seemed convinced that we'd bid for him in jan.

Nah, I doubt it, this is like Vidal & Kroos all over again. We've clearly been briefing the press for a while we're not in for him yet nobody wants to listen.

No Ramos, no Hummels and no Otamendi.. Another season with mediocre centre backs looms.

If we don't sign a CB and we end up playing Blind at CB this season it will be VERY dissapointing.

2 of England's finest, wouldn't swap them for the vast majority of defenders in the league. So what exactly makes them mediocre to you?
Neither is a Ramos or Silva, but doesn't mean they're mediocre. I'd have either over the world most expensive defender!

I said weeks ago that I think Otamendi is way overpriced after one very good season, he moved for €12m last year... why should he be worth £35m now? I might be in the minority but I'm glad we stay away, not convinced at all.

I also think Smalling, Jones and Rojo will be absolutely fine for us with more protection in Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger and Carrick, leaking goals really wasn't our problems last year (De Gea played a huge part in that as well I admit) – creating was. The fitness issue is another argument though...

Hope he's right. Don't want Gaitan and the price quoted for Otamendi is outrageous. We can do better.
Like ?

It's easy to say we can do better but who ? Otamedi was one of the best CB's about last season.

I agree 35mil is too much but who else is available for a cheap enough price ?

Please don't say stones, he isn't what the defence needs right now.

I think for the fact that they are always injured is a reason to buy a CB alone.

Aranguiz linked to Leverkusen at the minute. I think he's a cracking player, will do really well in Germany.
