Oh right, yeah they overpaid.I meant when Spurs originally signed him.
He was a beast when he played for Roma. It'd be a huge steal if he found that form again. What a shit signing.

I agree then.Yeah, I meant it would be a terrible signing overall for Spurs.
Schalke have turned down an £8.5m offer from Spurs for Leroy Sane, according to Kicker.
So, to clarify, we're now not that bothered whether our defenders can actually play football or not?

What difference being in Colorado make to the deal being close to completion? Are you really that gullible? Lamela is in Colorado right now, preparing for our friendly against the MLS All-Stars. Spurs have no intention of selling him ...and certainly not for the ridiculous sum mentioned.

The tweet clearly says deal is close. It's a loan deal, with an option to buy at the price. I'm not saying anything in that tweet is true. However, you need to learn to understand simple plain English before calling others gullible.
I'd love us to swoop in and steal him from City.
A 4-5-1 with KDB as the main man would be deadly:
De GeaPlenty of creativity and pace.
Darmian - Smalling - Otamendi - Shaw
Schneiderlin - Schweinsteiger
Pedro - De Bruyne - Memphis
Rooney
I am really not sure if you are just being emotional or if you did not read my post correctly. You make so many assumptions about my motivations it's ridiculous. I never said Otamendi will turn out like AdM, I said the thinking behind the transfer is similar. Di Maria had a brilliant 6 months with Real, there was a lot of talk about us lacking a pacey forward, not to mention a desperate need to lift the gloom around the club after Moyes. We forgot that he probably does not fit the profile of what we need or that his consistency or lack of thereof did not merit a 59millions price tag. We acted like if a muppet fan was in charge of the club. Going for excitement and thrill over what would actually fit in. I compared this situation to Otamendi now. A lot of talk of us needing a CB, a player who had a brilliant season becomes available and we just go "to hell with it! whatever it takes. GET HIM!".There is so much wrong with this post I dont know where to begin. Firstly why assume Otamendi will be like ADM, what because they are both Argentinian? Don't you think that if Otamendi is a legitimate target that we would have been scouting him as far back as his Porto days..maybe even when he was at Sarsfield.
As for Woodward, I think you have got caught up in the social media narrative about him. Outside of Di Maria he hasnt spent anywhere approaching those kind of figures on anyone. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but anyone would have mortgaged on ADM being gold at the start of last season.
Back to Otamendi. I believe he would fit our style in so much that he is likely to be as comfortable on the ball as Jones/Smalling plus the added benefit of his physical style. Ramos if he was the prime target possesses a hard edge and its been widely known that we are/were interested in him.
Exactly this. I don't dislike Otamendi either. In fact if we still had Fergie, I would consider him a brilliant successor to Vidic and a very likely perfect replacement. But buying because someone is available and there are no other options without considering how they would fit in smacks of desperation and pure muppetry.I agree and I don't even dislike Otamendi and I am sick and tired of the Ramos and Real soap opera, I would gladly never see us have anything to do with that club again. However LvG is unrelenting in his view of how a CB must play and I think it affects Smalling in particular who always looks awkward trying to play the ball out smoothly, it's not in his sklllset. If we were willing to defend in the Chelsea manner then sure, Otamendi would be a decent, if overpriced, option that fits the ethos, but for us it is yet another square peg in a round hole as shown by the fact he'd even play Blind as a CB just to have a left footer that can pass in there.
Either an upgrade on what LvG demands from a CB which ball playing abilities, or no one. I don't think Otamendi offers an upgrade in that department, certainly not 30 or 40 millions worth. We need a new CB though,if not Otamendi then who?
Can we ban Jamie Jackson now? I don't think any French media have reported an offer this low.

I can't believe we're selling Di Maria for less than £30m when Memphis cost us £145m. Everyone's taking us for a right bunch of mugs. English press are always wrong about these transfer fees.

Ogden and Ladyman also mentioning the £28.5m value.
I want rid of him now but if it was £28.5 million I'd be pretty miffed.
Jaime Jackson and Duncan Castles should be banned from the Caf. It is quite weird that they are still allowed here while other journalists have been banned. It seems that they're only purpose is to troll United fans. And it seems that they know as much as the average caftard, but then twist their articles to suit their agenda.
Ogden hardly knows anything. He and the other journalists have been out of the loop since Moyes was fired. I doubt Ladyman knows anything about this as well.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490
