FYI, Sergio is also the name of the club head chef.

like you said madrid have a history of doing that. robben makelele and snjeider to name a few. for pedro theres no shame in being on the subs bench behind suarez or neymar but what about spain who dont have great forwards? he hasnt been able to make his mark there either. di maria was motm of the CL final and was an integral part of real's lineup even when bale was around. because Bale does not play in di marias position so that certainly did not squeeze di maria out. yes rodriguez's arrival does affect di maria but he was a Fiorentino signing not an ancellotti singing. and if di maria had stayed ancelotti would have most likely played di maria anyway. no one in the squad agreed with selling di maria..thats well documented. pedro will not be a huge miss will he? that fact of the matter is that pedro os an average player. and if we really have to go for him we should at least exhaust all other world class options (eg. reus/greizmann) before settling for him.
Thank feck for that!yeah, sorry
That doesn't sound good to me.
Why??
On Daley Blind becoming a long-term centre-back: “It could be. Marcos Rojo is not here. He shall also come on 25 July. I want to play always with a left-footed central defender and Blind can do the job. Maybe he shall play there but all the players can play there. Last year it was Jones and Smalling, and even McNair has played there. But my preference is a left-footed defender and with Rojo and Blind we have two.”
To me he'd only say that if it was a big name they were looking to bring in, possibly someone we haven't been linked with. They'd down play it if it were likely to be someone underwhelming who would purely be backup.Just get the impression it will be an unknown or young kid rather an experienced player who can challenge Rooney for the starting position.
Transfer business or just the day job I wonder?

Which would be ace, a very traditional United style signing.Just get the impression it will be an unknown or young kid rather an experienced player who can challenge Rooney for the starting position.
i like ed's transfer ghost who must whisper transfer targets in his ear.
That could be a very good signing for them.
Pretty underwhelming United rumours today with reasonably credible sources (the Pedro thing obviously briefed by Woody) saying we want Cillesen and Pedro. I don't really want either but rather Pedro than Gaitan at least. Decent fee as well but still a lot of money if he's just going to be a super sub.
I don't know about that. He may be able to squeeze himself into the starting XI but I don't see him as someone who would really increase the quality. I think him, Depay (who I think will hit the ground running) and Mata are of a similar quality and form and confidence would decide it. It would have been interesting to get a true top-class option in such as Reus but you can't have it all.Tbh Pedro is better than anyone we have on the wings apart from an in-form Di Maria.

I dont know how selling Filipe Luis is related to buying John Stones ! Two completely different positions and types of players..
To be fair he does use the word 'also' and diverts attention to John Terry's replacement.I dont know how selling Filipe Luis is related to buying John Stones ! Two completely different positions and types of players..
I'm not too keen on this guy.
But the positive is that the Ajax defence is shambolic...just like ours.
So if he does take over, he wont be in shock when he sees that every time the ball comes in our half, under the control of an opposition player, he will need to make a save.
He comes across as a very calm person (much like Cech), so under pressure, he is likely to play to high standard.
And it is possible that after a year or so of "training", he may improve and his performance level may approach that of DDG.
I think LVG likes him because (coming from Ajax), he will be comfortable with the ball at his feet, so he will be able to fulfill the role of Sweeper.
Damn it. DDG is so well suited to our style of play and LVG's tactics, it would be criminal to let this guy go.
