I don't get this signing tbh, their biggest attacking threats are going to be Coutinho & Firminho and I don't see how Benteke is going to help with the kind of football they want to play.

Considering the reaction we saw in the Sterling thread, I'm surprised no one is laughing here. I think Benteke is worse value and doesn't fit Liverpool as well as I think Sterling will fit in at City.

Lambert and Balotelli are shit, Borini is shit and probably gone, Sturridge can't stay fit, Origi is still an unproven kid coming off of a shit season, and Firmino isn't an out and out striker.
They definitely need a proven striker. Benteke seems like a square peg in a round hole there, though.

I would like to think that football clubs aren't so gullible that their transfer bids aren't rushed based on media conjecture of another club possibly bidding.
