Arsenal will not be buying Benzema, Lacazette or anyone in that stratosphere.

Also, people dismissing Di Maria to PSG outright are being rather naive, I feel. Had a terrible year on and off the field and van Gaal might not see him being of any real importance to us moving forward. If you're not going to be a huge part of a managers plan and you're worth £40m+ which someone is interested in paying, you're always going to at least consider it.
You are basing it completely on the assumption that LvG does not rate him anymore after one poor season where LvG and Di Maria both admitted he struggled a bit and is now looking to settle down nicely for the coming season.

LvG is not the average poster on here who will give up on a world class player, whose signing he sanctioned, on the basis of one poor year.

People that think there actually is truth to it are rather naive imo. PSG have had their restrictions/punishment lifted, but they aren't 'healthy' and still need to balance their books. They can't make a loss this year or they'll be in the punishable zone again, we paid 75m Euro for Di Maria and this season he's worth 85m Euro if we want to at least break even with the weak Euro (we're playing hardball over de Gea with 1 year left, Di Maria has a 4 year contract). He's on much bigger wages than anyone at PSG so would either have to take a massive paycut or unsettle the whole club, making their contract extensions much more expensive. Rabiot and Thiago Motta are both likely to leave so will need to be replaced, they won't fetch much of a recoup either. PSG this year simple don't have the funds, Blanc and El-Khelaifi's comments made that pretty clear. Unless they sell off valuable players (which they rarely do) they just cannot afford Di Maria unless we and Di Maria personally are willing to take a massive hit, which I don't believe we will.

So far there have been no reliable reports about his exit, I can't see him leaving.

Well said that man

Middlesbrough agree fee of £5m with West Ham for Stewart Downing. The fee will rise to £7m if they're promoted.

Eh? Downing was pretty good last season no? Was for my fantasy team anyway. Seems bizarre that he's willing to drop out of the PL.

True that.

I don't think the decision makers at the club will be as short sighted as some fans. So I'm pretty relaxed about it right now. Things change of course, if it's actually the player that's pushing for the move

They've signed Ozil and Sanchez in the last two summers so they definitely can sign players in that stratosphere.

Benzema is probably not for sale though.

Those of us saying the rumours might have something in it aren't short sighted at all. If anything those in the camp of there's no chance at all might be short sighted. Of course there is a chance. We are relying on AdM saying he wants to do well this season with Utd as proof he won't be interested in a PSG switch. He might very well be interested. I see no point in French media, including L'Equipe persisting with the rumour for the sake of it. They're being told something by somebody. I still think he will stay but it won't surprise me at all of these rumours come to fruition

Absolute Joker.. Man has got no clue.. That is basically covering all the options in one answer.. What a moron..:lol::lol::lol:

This is just nonsense to be honest. It's quite clear it has stalled and it's quite clear that De Gea will be part of negotiations. Is he supposed to make up something despite the fact that every option he has said is quite possible?

To say he has no clue is a bit ridiculous. He broke the news in the UK which was then the same from the Spanish press. He or people close to him were told by Ramos' brother. No clue? Okay.

Wasn't that Sid Lowe that broke the news?

The original story I think was Sid Lowe, but Hunter broke the news about Ramos saying he wanted to go and only wanting to sign for United on Sky. Various other papers picked that up IIRC

I don't get this. At all. He has just had a great season in the Premier League - and now he is dropping down a level?

I'm labeling the people who want to sell him after one mediocre season as "short sighted". Not the people the people who believe these rumors. For such people, I don't really have much to say.

Why are you being so defensive anyway? If you want to believe in rumors, go for it. Who is stopping you?

Not that convinced by Benteke, I watched play in the Wales Vs Belgium match and he wasn't that good.

Hunter is the same guy who proclaimed that we have agreed terms with Thiago and only a fee to be agreed with Barca is left. He was absolutely certain about this and did the exact same like Ramos before, showing up at SSN and other news outlets. Thiago goes and signs for Bayern.

Now he claims a similar thing or about similar thing with Ramos. Even assuming that he was briefed by Ramos' brother, it could easily be that he was used as a patsy by Ramos camp to stir things up with Madrid. Everyone then quotes Graham and runs with it. Even assuming that Ramos truly wants to join United, Graham here has just ticked all the boxes in terms of options of what might happen, thus he gets to walk away saying it just didn't pan out or if it goes through, claim he always knew it was the case.

He didn't add anything new to what the guy asked, he could have just said he has got nothing new that what is already reported. I am not asking him to make stuff up, but he was just covering all the bases there. That is how people create an image of being "Reliable".

Anyways, that is how I see it.

Benteke to be our 2nd most expensive signing ever? Don't see it somehow. Especially after refusing to pay £25m for Schneiderlin.

Gaitan-agent til PLBOLD: Vi forhandler med engelsk klub http://dlvr.it/BXFS80 #pldk

Danish media PLBold has spoken to Gaitans agent, and he's confirmed to them that he's currently negotiating an english club.
In the article he's quoted saying that he couldn't confirm or deny that it's United he's talking with.

I'm fairly certain he'd be the 3rd most expensive, we paid more for both Di Maria and Mata, no?

Also, would probably end behind whatever cb we end up buying.
