Thing is that Otamendi would most likely take Rojo's spot in the first XI.
Well it really shouldn't. It's nowhere near as big a loss.DDG's potential loss is making me feel worse than I did when Ronaldo left us all those years ago.
Yeah just get it over with. And no, I won't wish him wellI can't wait to see De Gea sign for them, we will be able to turn the page.
Rojo seems to be a backup left back if all our players are fit. Jones and Smalling seem to be the first choice.Thing is that Otamendi would most likely take Rojo's spot in the first XI.
Zimbabwean
Anyway, its all just rumours. So lets just agree LVG has more knowledge on players than the rest of us. Yeah? Good!

No, lets accept he's made errors on plenty of players as well as been right on plenty and just give opinions on each potential buy as they come, as opposed nodding in agreement to every possible signing.

All very true, but I expect our improved defence will reduce the need for the keeper to bail us out so often. That depends on how he’s replaced. While Ronaldo was undoubtedly a massive loss, he was one of multiple players we would use in attack. Hell, despite him being our most prolific player at that point, we actually managed to score more goals in 2009/10 than the year before. Granted, we still missed him massively, but it’s not always too difficult to cover for the loss of a quality player in attack if the entire team is playing well, and if other players (like Rooney that season) significantly improve their game.
With a GK, you’ve obviously only got one, so if you lose a brilliant one and fail to replace him properly, then you’ve potentially got a massive problem on your hands. De Gea was often bailing out our defence and producing incredible performances this season; someone else who’s not on his level will provide an obvious difference in quality, unless a defence can cover him.
Aguero, Verratti and De Gea. feck me, it must be great to be a Real fan.
There must come a stage where you become desensitised to it all. I was reading another forum and they were discussing replacements for Ronaldo and. Modric and were throwing around names like Aguero, Pogba and Hazard as if they were any other player. It was in the same vein as us discussing signing Clyne or Ings.Aguero, Verratti and De Gea. feck me, it must be great to be a Real fan.

I was only 15 back then. I'd just started to properly follow football.Wasn't that many years ago
They have a track record of big name signings (and a lot of them dont live up to it because of it). If we bought players of the name value of Ronaldo, Kaka, Benzama, Bale etc over the last 6 years we'd be the same way. We're in the piss rain of Manchester, sadly. It must be the perfect life playing for a giant club on hundreds of thousands a week and waking up to the sun every day. Shame all footballers cant be ginger with bad skin like Scholesy. There must come a stage where you become desensitised to it all. Fair enough. I still think Ronaldo was a bigger loss.I was only 15 back then. I'd just started to properly follow football.

Good point! Not when you have to compete with Barca every year!

Benzema and possibly Ronaldo both going.Does that mean they're selling one of Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema?
What percentage of these messages actually come true?
Surely if Ronaldo goes we have to be front runner.
Don't see LVG going after him. Woody might want him but after the Falcao flop, I think he might be more gunshy.
I think Ronaldo will go to PSG for the money. He has to see that he simply can't compete with Messi or Barca and look for a final big contract.
Is Otamendi left footed? Van Gaal prefers to have a left and right footed centreback. I think its one of the reasons why he bought Rojo.
