He'd be very good for a counter attacking side like Atletico IMO. He's a very good speed dribbler.

His decision making could be improved (can be a bit greedy at times), but he's still young.
Ok just watched 2 minutes of youtube clips and would it be fair to say he seems to be very similar to Bale?

I think Hernandez will be staying if we're selling RvP.. Currently we have Rooney, Wilson and Hernandez as strikers, and we still need one more striker (should've kept Henriquez imo). If we're letting hernandez go as well, then we'd better be looking to buy 2 strikers.

Nah, Hernandez is a goner regardless of what happens with Van Persie IMO. If we sell VP and Hernandez and sign a new striker, we'd be perfectly fine with three strikers. After all, Van Gaal wants to play with a 4-3-3 formation, so there's no pressing need for four strikers at the club.

Top clubs playing with one up top only need two good forwards. Van Persie and Hernandez can both go, and we should bring in a younger, ideally versatile player to provide competition for Rooney.

There seems to be this trend on here with people thinking four strikers is still relevant. Three first team strikers is barely relevant.

Yeah.. Agreed. Plus we could always slot Memphis as a striker if any emergency arises, no?! Didn't he play striker for PSV last season for sometime?!

Plus if the papers are to be believed, aren't we trying to make Januzaj play as a striker?!

such a tweet coming from "the EPL club with the highest number of supporters' associations in the United States"

what a joke:lol:

Don't know about Memphis as I haven't watched him much for PSV, but I don't think we'll be turning Januzaj into a striker. With the 4-3-3 formation he could get a decent amount of games on the wing, so no need to convert him. He needs to show some better form next season, though.

If Van Gaal decides to use the 3-5-2 formation as well, then maybe Januzaj could be used as a striker, as he can't really play as a wingback.

I also don't like seeing Di Maria up front, despite his devastating speed when teams open up, though it could be an option if it comes to that.

I think we'll be fine with Rooney, a new, quality striker and Wilson next season.

By all accounts, he's a hot prospect right? With Demichelis getting on, Mangala struggling since arriving in the PL and Kompany not as imperious as in previous years, it would be a quite a blow to lose Denayer.

Do you think he's capable of having a breakthrough season next season?

He has never played as a striker, nor does he fit van Gaal's striker profile. He could do a job though, but it won't be ideal. I don't think Januzaj fits the striker profile either, otherwise van Gaal would've tried him there.

Can you tell me what actually is LvG's striker profile?! I am asking because I can't figure it out and since you would know better.. Thanks

I'm sure we have it all in hand, so there is really no need to worry. Woody was confident that we would have the squad to challenge on all fronts, and I'm sure he already knew who we'd be clearing out too. Patience.
Yes i agree that we know which players we want and that negotations with them and their clubs are well under way but i am pointing out that we should brought more players in before our tour.
For example i am 90% confident that Schneiderlin will be our player sooner rather than later but it would be much better if we would conclude his transfer before tour. We all saw what happened last season when we bought players to late and our start of the season was terrible and i am afraid this might happen again.

Yeah, won Scotland's Young Player of the Year award and has already started twice for Belgium at the end of the season. Celtic fans were very impressed with him. Whether he can make a swift transition from the SPL to the Premier League is obviously a big ask though, I'm not sure he'll be able to do it this season. Kompany and one of Demichelis/Mangala is likely to remain our first choice CB pairing and I think unless Denayer is going to play most weeks he's better off on loan elsewhere.

I don't think there's any danger of losing him though. He's too hot a prospect for City to let go, especially considering his potential HG status. Trouble is, his agent will be fully aware of that, hence why negotiations aren't going smoothly. The bottom line is Denayer wants to stay and City want to keep him, a compromise should only be a matter of when rather than if.

Rooney, Hernandez and Wilson is enough if we are going to play with one striker (which I think we will considering that we have a lot of attacking players for the 2-3 three positions behind the striker).
