Cadena Ser reporting that Real Madrid are offering Sergio Ramos a new contract in which he will earn €7,5m net every season.
Cadena are also stating that the belief within Madrid is that they will be able to offer €8-8,5m net per season maximum.
Sergio Ramos, however, wants €10m net per season. The question of renewing his contract is no longer about economics, according to Cadena.
Cadena even state that Sergio Ramos will not accept any offer from Real Madrid, regardless of how much money they offer.

Cadena Ser are pretty reliable. They were the ones who first broke Herrera and Di Maria news. So I guess we can put to bed the theories about Ramos using us to get a better contract.

Yeah, I remember that. Keeps the damn thing spinning along though.

I get the impression that the Spanish press are absolutely shite.

According to Spanish reports, Ramos wants everything sorted out when he comes back from holiday, which is next week if I'm not mistaken, so we should know a lot more at that moment.

That's brilliant news. Candena Ser are pretty much as reliable as they come in Spain aren't they?

The last line is

There's nothing like a rigged opinion poll to help sway public opinion the way you want it.
I agree these polls are bollocks, but why would AS rig a poll against Real?

I wouldn't be surprised if the poll was real.

Fans are fickle as feck, if they think he's on his way they'll make out like they want it that way.

I don't understand how these Real fans don't realise they get played by the Madrid friendly media year in year out.

That poll means nothing.A culé can vote or even you from UK.Marca says that United insist in a double operation to rise deGea price.According to the comments on the news most people would be happy trusting Navas and waiting a year for David

Before those tweets I had about a 30% confidence that we would sign Ramos..

But after reading them, I have a feeling that he might just sign his extension.. Not sure why, but he might just take that 8 or 8.5M€ net..:(

I am usually not a pessimist.. I am "the glass half full of something and the rest is filled with air" guy.. But gut feel says this transfer is not on.. :(

Hopefully I am completely wrong about this..

Edit: Typo.. That % was supposed to be 50%

Can Chicharito be sold while he has a fractured collarbone? Will a club buy an injured player?

Those Cadena Ser tweets contradict themselves.

Goes from "wants €10m net" to "wouldn't accept any offer regardless of how much" in two lines.

Marca:

There was no agreement in the meeting late on Tuesday between Atlético de Madrid's CEO, Miguel Ángel Gil and the Benfica president, Luis Filipe Vieira
Atlético made an initial offer of 30 million euros, just 5 million euros less than the release clause Gaitán has in his contract, but Benfica were even holding out for a fee higher than the clause. This might sound daft but there's a simple reason why: the release clause would include a single payment of the full sum stated, while an increased sum, but with an agreement in place, would mean that the money could be transferred in instalments. This is what Vieira is holding out for.

Even some of our fans worship Real and its dealings. If their PR machine could be that influential, it's no surprise that it works on their own fans.

That is what I took away from those tweets too..

I think he will sign an extension.. Oh well, there is always Otamendi.. Right?!:nervous:

Great news. Van Persie should be next.
Who else would we classify as deadwood after that? J.evans, Powell? Hoping Rafael stays. Hernandez's injury may work in his favour a-la Fellaini.

IF they manage to sell him for 35m, then they should be investigated for usage of black magic in negotiations.

Aye. 30 million for Gaitan is mental. Atletico should just sell Arda and get Konoplyanka on a free, as I don't think he's a lesser player than Gaitan and he's younger as well.

Don't know about deadwood, but we shoud do everything possible to get players like Nani and Van Persie off the wage bill.

Nani and Van Persie have both contributed for our recent successes with Fergie at the helm, but it's time to move on.

Err no he won't, not until we have a credible replacement on the horizon anyway, to be left with just Rooney would be ridiculous.

I agree that we shouldn't sell him without signing a replacement, that's why I said ''should''. The current lack of quality options on the market is concerning.

Indeed it is, the crumb of hope I have that we have something planned is the fact we have sat back and let strikers like Bacca, Dyabla and probably Benteke join other clubs.
