"£25M" have become the new "£15M". Decent player but not worth that much surely

Maybe but the lad has been a huge success for Southampton. I remember they were on a bad run before they played us at OT and he had missed a few games, when he came back against us he bossed our midfield and they beat us. He pretty much has lifted that team to the dizzying heights they have enjoyed.

He's been great for Southampton, huge part of the reason of why they have such a good defensive record. I think he's a very safe bet and better than most of the names people mention. Just because they are more exotic or have beautiful sounding names or play for Villareal doesn't make them better.

He was superb that day.

Sorry if old news now but Blanc said: “Maybe Pogba will stay at Juve, maybe he’ll sign for a big club and be loaned back to Juve”

That surely means he reckons Barca have signed him and will loan him back until January.

Yup, purely down to inflation. However he is one if not the most consistent player in the league the past 3 seasons.

Schneiderlin and Gundogan would be close to perfect for this summer's midfield purchases.
I bloody hope so, add them to Herrera and Carrick and we've got one of the best midfields in Europe.

According to 'kicker', Inter are strongly interested in Medhi #Benatia and contacted both club and his agents, but met with a refusal.

Sneijderlin would be a perfect signing for that number 6 role with very little risk. It would be great if we really do get him. :) I think it's only natural that van Gaal is looking at him considering our priority is a number 6.
Doesn't Wanyama play the no.6 role for Southampton?

Alves, Otamendi, Schneiderlin, Gundogan and Depay are title challenging signings. If we end up with those 5 we are well in with a go at the title next year.

Inflation in real world isn't that big though. The biggest contributing factor is Premier League TV deal which has given clubs much more money to spend + United's new sponsorship deals that blow our previous deals out of the water. La Liga and Serie A teams are probably spending less money than before actually, especially Italians who used to beat transfer records and they seldom go past the £20m mark these days, even Juventus.

According to whoscored they both give or take played a fair number of games as CM and DM. I suspect Southampton play a flat midfield with 2 defensive midfielders or 2 central midfielders depending on the opposition from those statistics.

Aye, I think you might be right although I think Schneiderlin is the more creative of the pair with Wanyama more the destroyer

When I've seen them play together as a pair it's alongside each other but Wanyama definitely tends to charge up the field a bit more when pressing or when Southampton build an attack.
