I will be over the moon if we sign Schneiderlin. So many options, Carrick and Schneiderlin to free up Herrera, Carrick, Schneiderlin and Di Maria (I think we could give him another try there with added protection), Schneiderlin, Herrera and Fellaini, Schneiderlin, Carrick and Rooney with a new striker up front... god I hope it's true and he's coming here

This seems a long shot, but if we got them both surely that would spell the end for one of our midfielder's, likely Fellaini.

Could just as easily use Fellaini in a more advanced role for games in which we need a physical presence. If anyone is losing out its Blind who will be relegated to midfield and LB cover, suspect Carrick's workload will be monitored closely too.

Depay, Schneiderlin, Coleman, Otamendi and a striker, yes fecking please.

Fellaini might be considered more likely in the striker role rather than midfield next season. He'd be a good plan b.

I think Sneijderman may well just be tied up. Looking forward to the announcement !

I don't know who but someone is leaving.

Schweinsteiger's not coming IMO. I just checked a few Bayern forums, they are convinced he's staying, because a.) he's on a big fat contract, b.) can leave on a free next year and get a signing-on-bonus, c) has a nice rest this summer and will want to be absolutely sure of his starting place in the Germany squad for next year's EURO, d.) there is very little in the reliable local press, and the few snippets available indicate he has no intention to leave at all.
Schweinsteiger also said he'll talk to Rumenigge in the summer, and it seems those talk haven't taken place yet. He's going nowhere, bet he will sign a new contract later in the summer.

You have to remember that we were one injury away in midfield from playing Rooney last season.

Considering the amount of time Rooney spend in Midfield last season, having two extra players over one doesn't seem such a bad idea. Especially considering all the extra games we could have

AS: Real Sociedad keeper Rulli resigned to his fate of being forced by investment fund to sign for Valencia.

This AS article is quite interesting.

The owner of Manchester City is involved in the investment fund that owns Rulli’s rights, meaning the keeper may end up being involved in a possible Otamendi move from Valencia to Manchester City. Valencia have to pay City 30 million euros in respect of Negredo next week; selling Otamendi would get rid of that issue and likely get the final green-light for Rulli, if that hasn’t already been given.

Can see all of the above happening.

Yes, Fellaini really stole Mata's position last season, if Mata stays then there is no way he will do so on the right side like last season, so he needs to move in behind the striker or go, Rooney could also take that position if we get a top striker in. So the two other MF positions would be taken up by Carrick, Schneiderlin, Schweinstegier, and Herrera, you could also throw Perreria into the mix.

For me if, and it's a big if these two players come in then someone will go, Fellaini, or Mata.

I'm not convinced they will, not in this window anyway. If we overload in any area it may as well be midfield.

Yeah I'm definitely wrong, I thought that we would have more than 7 midfielders with Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger.

Seriously, why post the tweets where some dumb arsehole asks a journalist about a player? If that journalist had any groundbreaking exclusive news they would sell it to a paper, not just give it out freely to some twat online.

They never actually say anything that isn't a pointless waste of time, anyway. It's always the same "Maybe so maybe not, not betting either way" rubbish.

Van Gaal wants us to play 4-3-3, so we'd have Carrick, Schneiderlin, Herrera, Fellaini, Blind and Pereira for the midfield slots, and Depay, Mata, di Maria, Januzaj and Young for the 'wide' positions. I think that's perfectly fine for 50+ games considering our luck with injuries and one of our key players (Carrick) being 34. We should definitely sell Hernandez though and play Fellaini upfront if both Rooney & RvP are out and Wilson isn't available as well.

RB/Valencia -- Smalling/CB -- Jones/Rojo -- Shaw/Blind

Bastian/Carrick
Herrera/Pereira -- Schneiderlin/Fellaini

Mata/Di Maria/Januzaj* ------------ Memphis/Young
Rooney/ST/Wilson

Outfield squad would be something along those lines if we get Schweinsteiger with Januzaj probably loaned out and McNair/Blackett/other youth included in squad too.

How good is Pereira though, and to me, Blind is a versatile player, but I still think a better quality midfielder would be needed.

So we'll have Schneinsteiger, Carrick, Blind, Herrera, Fellaini as well as Mata and Rooney who have both played in midfield under LVG.

That's a lot of talent, but going forward I hope this mea

Looks alright on paper doesn't it?

If we get a decent RB in and manage to pull off one of Otamendi/Ramos, the only weakness in the squad is upfront where we're limited to Rooney, RVP, Hernandez and Wilson at the moment, with genuine question marks over RVP and Hernandez being here at all.

I would've hoped for a big move for a forward this year, but it might be too much in one go. And if Depay can hit the ground running along with Di Maria being in more familiar form prior to his United move, it may not be the end of the world.
