Talking to @JNorthcroft who interviewed Ryan Giggs yesterday, said that RG told him Utd want to strengthen spine of the team CB/MF/ST

Talking to @JNorthcroft right now, says Utd still want Schweinsteiger & would love Benzema. Jonathan interviewed Ryan Giggs today.

I'm glad to here we intend to adress the entire spine to really get things strengthened and with depth, but I think we'll fall short on the striker.

So this one looks very much done, and wasn't in much doubt anyway. Let's see if we can snag the Schwein as well.

This seems a long shot, but if we got them both surely that would spell the end for one of our midfielder's, likely Fellaini.

That is not likley at all.

He might play less but LVG is not going to shift out Fellaini since he is one of our better players this season and he has qualities that nobody else in the team has. Not a player for the starting eleven but surely a player that will be used alot from the bench.

Blind might be the one that is actually not going to be used in the MF anymore but be used a leftback.

But if a midfielder will be shifted out it is going to be nobody else then Carrick. 34 years old and injurry problems have brought us into a mess this year. I think there is a big possibility Carrick will not get a contract renewal at the end of the year and that it could be his last season here at the club.

The way I see it

--------DM------
---CM----CM----

DM: Schneiderlin, (Carrick and Blind)
CM: Herrera, Schweinsteiger, Fellaini (Rooney, Di Maria)

I can't see Schweini coming now if Schneidi is done and dusted. Maybe if we had another German in the team then Schweini would come but it would be tough for him towards the end of his career to turn up at Utd and start trying to make new friends when he can stay at Bayern where he has all his best mates of many years around him and will still get plenty of game time

What happens to Blind assuming everyone's fit*? Bench?

*Big assumption I know!

Bloody hope so....With Cech gone we should go for Lloris.

The links to Cillessen can only be good for us, we need Lloris to really push himself out of Spurs to get Levy softened up, without that it's impossible and we would have to pay 40m or something silly.

Schweinsteiger doesn't strike me as the type of person to make career choices based on whether or not he can have his mates around to hold his hand.
Besides, he speaks perfect English as well as some Spanish and French - He'll get by.

Himself and Schneiderlin along with Carrick and Herrera, would give us a midfield as strong as any in Europe. For the money being spoken about, we should definitely be going for it.

You'd be surprised how much of a difference it makes for a footballer. Di Maria was having none of us last summer until we signed Rojo. I just can't see it happening but obviously it would be massive if it does happen but Schweini has the comfort zone of not really being under any pressure to leave Bayern where he is loved and will still get plenty of game time. It's a different scenario altogether when a club is desperate to offload a player such as Liverpool are with Balotelli now etc Balotelli would be on the next plane to Italy if any other club there were willing to match his wages at Liverpool where he is not exactly loved

From my obviously unknowing viewpoint (and lets be honest, none of us know jack about the inner thoughts of players making these decisions), Schweinsteiger comes across as a very different character to Di Maria.

Di Maria is different, he comes from a totally different culture than Schweinsteiger. He doesn't speak English and some of the players don't speak Spanish. Schweinsteiger hasn't made it a secret he would like to move some day and now might be the time, I doubt he'd turn down a move if there aren't any other Germans at a club. On the other hand he might choose to stay so he can guarantee his place at the Euro 2016 more easily and move later.

Sign someone. Anyone.
Schneiderlin is not the biggest name. But we really need good steady players. He should be a good addition.

Go on LVG, take no shit of these cnuts. About time a club stood up to them. Pay the price and we want Ramos or feck off:devil:

I never really considered it before, but signing Valdes was a master stroke.

With all this De Gea stuff, sides (like Spurs with Lloris) could really have taken us to the cleaners on his replacement because they'd know how desperate we were.
Now we can take our time, point at our highly decorated back up keeper and wait them out.

Real can go to hell. I'd bloody love to see us keep De Gea for another year, he can feck off next summer if he wants, but it seems Woody is taking no shit this time. Good.

AS: Real Sociedad keeper Rulli resigned to his fate of being forced by investment fund to sign for Valencia.

This AS article is quite interesting.

Can see all of the above happening.

fecking Mansour really seems to be becoming a cancer on European football - first he pumps-up City, then he has Real by the balls through his business relationship with Perez and the re-development of their stadium, and now he's messing around with Sociedad and Valencia - all while the cnut's arse is being licked clean by the English hacks impressed by him building City a shiny new ground near Eastlands

Never thought of that. Good point.
