At £12.5m, I think Clyne is a good deal. Coleman may well be more than double that.

Nail on head. Both are better than what we've got (considering Rafa is a crock), but why would people want Coleman if they sniffed at signing Clyne? There's not much between them at all and one will cost double what the other cost. His nationality might come into it with some.

They are not better than Valencia, at least Coleman wasn't last season.
He had a year left on his contract, so imagine what he'd cost with another year on it. It's a great deal for Liverpool, they've got him at the right time. If he had two years left on his contract I wouldn't pay much more than that.
