So lads would you consider ramos, schneiderlin, schweiny, bacca and depay a very good summer ?

Edit: and that rb from monaco.

Ramos, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Depay and Fabinho * would be an excellent summer.

* Don't know how good is him, but people seem to rate him. Surely, he cannot be worse than Clyne?!

feck Bacca. If we keep RVP, that would be the most pointless signing of all time. But even without RVP, I think that Hernandez can do a job as a backup striker. He has done it in the past very good for us, and did well enough for Madrid when given the chance. On Rooney, Hernandez, Depay, Young, Di Maria, Mata, Januzaj and Fellaini, we have enough attacking weapons. Wilson too, if RVP leaves.

The Ramos situation will run on for a while, won't it? This is going to be a long and repetitive summer, but hopefully we'll get the players we want at the end of it.

Wasn't the plan to get the players before it ends ?

Like I'm pretty sure that was the message coming from woodward and co.

Ramos and Real want this sorting out within two weeks don't they?

If the reports of us demanding a world-record fee for DDG are true, I absolutely love the way we're playing this. Add in the Ramos factor and I feel we're giving Madrid a taste of their own medicine for once. That being said, there's probably quite a strong chance we'll start the season with neither of those players in our squad...

Anyone got the full article?

Manchester United want Sergio Ramos to state publicly his intention to leave Real Madrid in the hope of accelerating a deal, after the club’s opening £32 million bid for the defender was rejected out of hand.

Ramos and Real are also thought to share United’s desire for a swift resolution to avert the threat of the fall out overshadowing Rafael Benítez’s first games as head coach on the club’s pre-season tour to Australia and China next month.

The Spain centre half has spelt out privately his wish to leave the Bernabéu and for United’s interest to be taken seriously during talks with José Ángel Sánchez, the Real chief executive, at the club’s Valdebebas training ground on Wednesday morning.

Ramos is believed to have considered the possibility of releasing a statement on the matter and United hope that will soon materialise as they attempt to push through a deal and dispel any concerns that they are being used as a pawn in the player’s attempt to extract a lucrative new contract out of Real.

United have been given enough encouragement to believe that is not the case and sources close to Ramos have routinely indicated that he is a man of principle and that his conflict with Real stems from a belief that he has been treated poorly.

Ramos has been angered at attempts in the Spanish media to characterise him as a mercenary over reports that he is demanding a £3 million increase on his annual salary and believes the smear campaign is being orchestrated from within the club.

David De Gea is likely to hold the key to any agreement. Just as Real believe United’s £29 million valuation of De Gea is excessive for a goalkeeper who is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract at Old Trafford, so United are reluctant to meet the Spanish club’s £45 million price tag for Ramos, a 29-year-old with no resale value.

United value Ramos, who has two years left on a contract that includes a £129 million buyout clause, at less than £40 million and have still to receive a formal bid for De Gea. The £2.75 million six-bedroom house that De Gea rents in Bowdon, an affluent Cheshire suburb, was reported to have been put up for sale by its owner.

All parties are eager for a resolution, with Real flying to Australia on July 11 for the start of their pre-season tour and United travelling to America two days later for the beginning of theirs.

Real are to play friendlies against Roma and Manchester City in Melbourne on July 18 and July 24 respectively, before travelling to China to face Inter Milan on July 27 in Guangzhou and AC Milan on July 30 in Shanghai in the Guinness International Champions Cup.

The squad will return to Madrid to continue their pre-season preparations before flying to Germany for the Audi Cup, which is being hosted by Bayern Munich on August 4 to 5.

With Real making their first visit to China for four years, Florentino Pérez, the club president, is eager to avoid the prospect of a soap opera surrounding Ramos’s future detracting from the occasion.

According to AS, the Spanish sports newspaper that is close to the Ramos camp, United have offered the player a net salary of €55 million (about £39 million) over five years.

As well as a central defender, Louis van Gaal wants to sign at least one midfielder and reports in Italy and Germany yesterday claimed that Bastian Schweinsteiger was moving closer to a £17.8 million move to United with Bayern reluctant to meet his new wage demands. Schweinsteiger, 30, is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract at the Allianz Arena.

United are also in pole position to sign Morgan Schneiderlin, the France midfielder, from Southampton although it was unclear last night if they are pursuing deals for both players or if Schneiderlin is an alternative in the event that Schweinsteiger opts to stay at Bayern.

@Señor just summarise it in a few sentences

United want Ramos to speak publicly of his desire to join us in hope of accelerating his transfer. Ramos has spoken to Madrid officials making it clear of his desire to leave. If he does leave, United will offer him a £39m contract over 5 years.

We're also pretty sure we're not being used as a pawn by Ramos to get a better contract. DDG could be the key to making a deal between the clubs for both players. Both parties want to resolve the issues before they go on preseason which is in 2 weeks.

The article also mentions reports in Germany state we're close to signing Schweinsteiger for £18m and that we're also in pole position for Schneiderlin.

I will be proud of uncle Woodward if that happens. We don't need 15m we're not exactly short on cash and i don't think De Gea will be unhappy either, maybe initially but he'll get over it. It's not like he's being forced to stay at Spurs and he's never been unhappy at this club. One more year. feck it. Time to grow a pair.

 Thanks. I meant to delete the article and put the summarised version instead. But the article is open, so i guess it doesnt matter.

I doubt if Ramos will want to endure the wrath of Madridistas.

Schweinsteiger for £18m certainly sounds a lot more realistic than £7.5m. Honestly, so long as we get another CM (hopefully Schneiderlin) I wouldn't care if we paid £20m+ for Schweinsteiger. We're gambling that he can have a career like Scholes, Pirlo and Xavi and last into his mid-to-late thirties, but it's a gamble worth taking.

I must admit I like how we are handling DDG situation right now.
Yep about time we and the rest of the league start standing up to the Spanish 2. If they want to offer us a reasonable fee then negotiate but balls to them if they think they can have him for £15m or some shite like that.

If we are actually dealing with the de Gea situation as is being newly reported and stepping up our interest in the likes of Ramos & Schneiderlin then I will feel considerably better than we have people running this club in the right way. I don't think we're exactly Madrid's 'bitch' as some seem to think, but showing some real cojones will make us all feel along more secure with the way things are going, even if it means losing De Gea for free next year. I mean, tell them to keep their money unless it's truly worthwhile and we'll spend another year making sure we get the correct replacement. It's not just about this one deal, it's about showing we aren't to be fecked around like we have been at times in the past.

We should be doing is irrespective of what RM offer (unless it is something really crazy). He is worth a lot to us and keeping him for another year will more than make up for what we would get otherwise. Also, we are not in any need for money so I can't for the sake of me think of one reason we should sell this summer.

Same here.
