yep. some people are more interested in balancing the books than actually building a title winning side it seems.
 this! I've said several times before that I just don't care about the financial side that much. We're a rich club, let's just get a top team again.

The fees for our targets keep increasing and go in the other direction for the player we want to sell.

Fernerbache were buying him for 7m pounds yesterday, today he is leaving for 6m Euros.

Christ. Nani's (suggested) price is the sort of quote Cash Generator give for a Ferrari.

It is amazing to see a player under performs, falls out of favor and burns his bridges at one club only to get signed for a better club.
Did he under perform? I was under the impression he was frozen out because he refused to sign a contract extension. Looking at his highlight reels he looks very talented.

There goes another young RB from the reserves
I doubt he'll leave on a permanent deal, Giggs and Scholes seem to rate him highly unless he leaves on a free for some reason as I think his contract is up. We have offered him a new one though. Personally I don't rate him so I don't care if he leaves anyway.

Bakkali is an example of an extremely talented kid with a bad attitude who thought he made it already. He already played way more games than planned in his break trough season that when he was given a contract making him one of the best paid players (!) and second choice behind Memphis, who was pretty much guaranteed to leave sooner rather than later. He rejected the contract though and PSV completely froze him out, he has only trained whilst his old contract ran down. He already had big offers from Atletico Madrid and others, PSV also agreed a deal with a club for him but he rejected. He will now get his signing bonus I guess, goodbye little fecker.

If he's joining Valencia there's probably some Mendes shenanigans involved. I believe Lim 'owns' a good percentage of the side and Mendes represents them.

You're right Mendes is involved. Infact he's pulling the strings. Probably got a fat check from Lim. Both him and the player.

Yeah heard about his attitude. Always sad when a youngster does this to his parent club. The least they can do is sign an extension so the club can make some money.

He has the physical attributes to play in the PL and is almost a Valencia clone.. But is neither a good winger, nor a good defender. Lots to improve but like you said is apparently very highly rated in the club which is why I'm surprised we're selling him to Celtic

€6m - Jesus Christ it just gets worse
The buying club are taking on the responsibility of a massive salary. Moyes gave him 100k a week 5 year contract. United paid him 5 Million for playing in Portugal last season.

Telegraph called it 10 days ago, wait and see if they're right I suppose. Also, wait and see if some of these people have a change of heart  (except Orc, unless he's back supporting us again :D).

I said he's overrated but would still want him here as our current options are not worth turning our noses on Ramos. The overrated bit is about some who believe he's the best CB in the world or even up there with Silva, Boateng etc which he isn't.

What better place to spend your last year in football than sunny Manchester.

Van gaal will go for big names with experience .
Hence Ramos , swieny ect . I can't see him being bothered about age , sell on value ect ect
He has 2 years left on a 3 year deal and will want to challenge for the pl and ecl this season .
A bit similar to fergie buying van persie .

In truth wouldn't be against it €75m would make all our money back on him and I really haven't been impressed by him this season. Like many said that season under Ancelotti made people believe he was an exceptional midfielder while in fact he is just a good winger. Somebody like Arda Turan could replace him and one or two good actual midfielders might improve us more than keeping Di Maria.

But Might also be bullshit, in anyway shouldn't force him out and if he wants to stay to prove himself he is welcome but if he wants to leave and we'd get €75m I'd accept it.

Funny to see how people dont understand why we wont get A LOT for Nani...

£7m for Nani would be fine business, he's on reportedly £5m a year for another three years, that's £15m saved for a player LVG actually wants in his squad on top of a (rather small) transfer fee. Better than cover his wages while he plays in his homeland...

Yeah but you know Chelsea would sell him for 20 m.

Yea they might but even with that people give Chelsea insane credit, like they sell players who were on the bench/stands for last 2 years for 40 mil. +.

In a market where some absolute dogshite players can go for £15m, we should be expecting more than €6m -- what's that, like £4m? It's ridiculous, Nani is an excellent player, inconsistent, but excellent. On his day he's world class and can make the difference against opponents of any calibre. He's too inconsistent for an elite team, but talented enough for the likes of Inter, AC, etc.

They buy younger players, prospects, generally. They bring them in on relatively low wages, loan them out to put them in the shop window and then move them on for much higher fees.

They can command higher fees because the wages are so low as it is all part of the cost for a footballer. When you have players like Nani and Kagawa on wages far greater than their worth as players, you are not going to command high fees for them because their wages are prohibitive.

Yeah, in theory he's an excellent player.
