We either get peanuts or silly money for players, there is no inbetween.

In the case of Nani though it makes total sense for us to offload him for less just to get rid of his wages, particularly when its to a club that needs to offset said wages within the transfer fee to make it happen.
Absolutely. Can't believe Moyes sanctioned his increased wages:rolleyes: Nobody with any sense would have done that so it's good to get him taken off our hands regardless of the transfer fee amount.

And how's that Rio's fault?
He's totally right - english players are waaay overpaid.

We paid 30m pounds for Luke Shaw. For a teenager who played 66 league games and appeared twice for England.
Two years before that Jordi Alba, established player who just won EURO with Spain, went to Barcelona for 14m euros, which is one third of what we paid.[/QUOTE

Also to the Alba/Shaw point Alba had only one year left on his contract while Shaw had four years left on his. Plus Illarmendi wnet for 32 million so it is not like it is unheard of in Spain.

Didn't know that.
So let's compare Alba, already superior player who just won EURO with Spain and played lots of games for CL side Valencia, to Nathaniel fecking Clyne, who barely kicked a ball for England and never played in Europe.
Alba cost 14m euros (~10m pounds), Clyne is being valued at 15m pounds, both one year on their contract. And Alba is twice a player.

@AKDevil, still Rio was overpaid massively. Reason we had to pay that much was he went to Leeds for 18m. After that he played in Leeds successful CL campaign and bossed in 2002 World Cup, so we had to nearly double that. But he was a great, already proven player - Kane isn't.

Dortmund are interested in Anderlecht striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, according to @DiMarzio. Belgians asking for €15m to begin negotiations.

#Juventus agreed terms with Manchester City for Stevan Jovetic, but are waiting for Oscar from Chelsea. (Gazzetta Dello Sport)

#ACMilan CEO Adriano Galliani admits Jackson Martinez heading to #AtleticoMadrid . "We'll save €75m"

on AC Milan failing to sign Kondogbia:

“At 1.30 it was all done,” Galliani told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Monaco had given us the all-clear for the sale at €40m with payment spread over two years, €20m and €20m.

“The agreement with Geoffrey had already been sorted out the night before and was confirmed that same morning by him and his father.

“After we exchanged the documentation, at 1.30pm everyone disappeared. Evidently they changed their minds or the others offered more.”

on Martinez:

“If we save €40m on Kondogbia and €35m on Jackson Martinez, we’ll have another €75m to spend wisely over the rest of the transfer window,” added Galliani.

“Whether that’s a good or a bad thing, only time will tell…”

Italian clubs seem to have cash this summer.

Juve, Inter, AC milan all pretty active already.

Ah I see Juve are going for the classic 2-3-5 formation next season.

They play

------------------GK--------------------
RB--------CB-------------CB--------LB
---------CM-----CM------CM-------------
----------------CAM---------------------
---------SP------------SP----------------

For the front 3 positions they have: Peryra, Tevez, Morrata, Coman, Llorenthe and Matri

Tevez is 100% leaving to Boca juniors

Morrata has been very impressive but still has a clause in his contract that Real Madrid can buy him back for a limited amount so they must preparing for a departure

Matri is 30 years Coman is really a prospect for the future so they can improve upon those 2 quite a bit

Also Llorenthe has been often linked with other clubs so they might be looking to sell him

They have brought in Dybala and Manzukic to cover one or two departures from their strikers

Jovetic or Oscar they want to replace Tevez
