It's the lot of you that don't understand negotiations, negotiating strength is not determined by a single variable as many of you seem to claim. There's more to it, and how savvy our negotiator is also plays a part.
1. United have Valdes, so, we're not rushing this at all.
2. Real Madrid are competiting with Barca, can they afford another trophyless season? They have 2 highly paid dross between the sticks.
3. €25m is nothing to a club like United, De Gea for another season is worth more than €25m to us.
4. As long as we have Valdes, we can afford to drag this one out, until the very last minute of the window.
5. We definitely don't need €25m from Madrid to replace De Gea or to sign a new keeper, we're cash rich.

It's so funny that many of you think we should just hand them a player because he has one year left on his contract. It's not the way it works, the financial position of the seller and quality of the player in question are very important factors, the agent also has to play it well to keep both sides happy.
Well assuming Valdes is good enough to be first choice then we’re fine. I’m not sure about that.

I agree that it would be better if De Gea stayed for one more year and then left for free, but if he asks the club to leave then I would rather he left. That’s not unlikely scenario IMO, the fact that he hasn’t signed an extension for such a long time speaks volumes.

IMO Madrid are in better situation with Casillas and Navas then we are with Valdes.

I'd regrettably sell De Gea as long as we replace him with Cech.

No reason Cech can't be our number one for at least five years.

I've mentally moved on from De Gea already to be honest.

Very good question, have City bought any players and progressed them, in the way we did with Ronaldo ?

Not many. Aguero improved under them but I'm not sure you'd really put that down to City. There isn't any questions about Pogba for me though, he's already among the best midfielders in the world and would likely boss the PL if he returned.

Me too. Just want it announced so the discussions can end.

Seems to be the defender a lot on the Cafe are keen on. Not going to pretend I know a lot about him, but his career to date hasn't been stellar, has it? Is he really that good? Genuinely asking as opposed to looking for an argument.

Probably the best CB in Spain this year.

If we want to sign a young midfielder than better to hijack Pool's bid for Kovacic.
Great idea however we could be looking at a massive overpay deal here. Full four years of contract with no intention to sell from Inter.

Not saying it's impossible, especially with Brendan facing lack of Champions League.

Madrid aren't "a club", especially to an Argentine, and he ain't one of the best young players in world football.

22 goals and 6 assists this season in an underperforming Inter side. Not many 22 year olds finish top scorer in a major league, and anyone who does can fairly be classed as one of the best young players in world football.
