Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

As I recall - at the end of the fiscal year we had rougly £250-270 million left on that credit arrangement - I don't know how much that changed during the summer, but there is no way we are even close to spending all of it. So from that point of view, there should be money available for the odd signing. Another thing is PSR and - of course that borrowing money at high interest to sign players isn't smart. So there is a chance that INEOS has said we are not using that money unless we absolutely have to - and they don't feel we are there yet.
Ok we spent £206m, most of this was arranged in staggered payments, we also have to now consider the Pay off for ETH and his staff, plus the upfront payment to buy Amorim out of his contract, all of these will show in 24/25 seasons accounts.

Apparently most of our signings with the exception of Lenny Yoro were on 2 to 4 year Payment plans, let’s assume £100m then you have to account for at least £20m for upfront for Agent fees, then you have 1.5 years of ETH contract probably £15m and another £5m for his staff.

The club could easily have set aside £170m for all of this with staggered payments for ETH Sacking, plus £50-60m set aside for Carrington and Minor refurbishment to the stadium.

I agree we might have £40-50m but with the desperation to remove all our big earners out of the club, this seems to be the main reason why SJR sacked Dan Ashworth, incompetent signings and not enough effort on removing players like Casemiro, Eriksen, Rashford, Antony and Sancho. However the PSR narrative is simply not true as I’ve shown previously.

Barça goes in with everything for Marcus Rashford!

The club will push hard to obtain the loan of the Manchester United attacker until the end of the season

Deco takes advantage of his days in Saudi Arabia to explore the viability of the operation.

A loan with an option is stupid unless the option is massive.

It would be very frustrating if he spends six months tearing Serie A apart and then Milan get to sign him for €25m

We would do well to avoid dealing with Broke Barc Mountain. They will shaft us on the payments and try and activate more levers.

Raphinha 17 goals and 10 assists this season.
Lewandowski 25 goals and 2 assists.

Where does he play?

His wages are c£18m a year, so not as bad a deal as it looks, plus being an academy player means it's pure profit, plus he's not been that good for a while.. Overall average is 0.3 goals per game in the Premier league.. We just need him gone.

Needs to be an obligation and a high obligation or he will end up leaving for free on that ridiculous wage.

So what should we accept?

A loan with a good obligation to buy is the best option but obviously unrealistic at this stage.

A loan with a high fee option to buy is the next best option.

A loan with a low obligation comes next. It can backfire on us if he tears it up over there but at least gets us something if he’s shit.

Then comes a straight loan. It doesn’t get us anything if he’s crap but it allows us set the fee ourselves if he impresses. I’m torn on whether this should be in 3rd or 4th place.

Last of all is the loan with low option. It gives us absolutely nothing apart from the wage relief for a few months. If he’s good they get him for a steal and if he’s shite they just don’t take the option. Zero upside.

I read somewhere that they spent 200m of that credit

I actually have no problem with this at all at the moment, not even Mainoo. For long I thought he had to keep players, but not any more. Give Amorim want he wants, it is not about individual players, it is about the club. Ofcourse I hope we keep our talents, but if it is better for the club in the long run to sell some, I have no problem with it anymore.

That seems unlikely.

We bought players for close to £200 million and probably spent £15-20 millions to ETH, Newcastle and Sporting. But we also sold players for almost £100 million. First of all it doesn't seem likely that more or less everything we spent on transfers was taken from the credit line - but even if we did, the huge amount we got in should make sure that the credit line still should be fairly big
