Delighted with this. He was excellent at Hibs last season when he finally got given a chance after when we sold Ryan Porteous to Watford in January.

Hope we get to keep him permanently but slim chance of that happening if an English championship club dives in for him.

Why are we only hopeful we can get a deal done in the next 2 weeks?

Personal terms are already agreed and we’re not a million miles away on valuation.

Strange update

It's a brief obviously, calm fans unrest after last night.

From this window's activity it's clear the club's trying to maintain discipline in transfer fees. Sure we could easily throw in another £10m and get it done a week sooner, or negotiators could find the sweet spot price over a slightly longer but not harmful duration, and it pays off in saving a few million now and many millions in future windows. Let's be patient!

When we got to this stage with Mount and Onana, it was as good as done. Let's hope the same is true here.

This is what I thought. As long as we got to this stage with the negotiations, it really does look good. It is just a matter of time until he signs for us. Next one: Midfield :D

Selling Fred, who helped turn the game versus Barcelona last season for less than 20m would be utterly insane. Very handy squad player.

The problem is though that yeah he can be brilliant against Barcelona one game, and then the next he can be the absolute worst player on the pitch. You can't rely on him because he's so wildly inconsistent.

Because its got to be signed off by Joel Glazer

Maybe. My point was really just that it's not obvious that McTominay should have a higher valuation than Gallagher.
With K Mainoo maybe out for 8-12 weeks we will not let Mctominay, DVB and Fred go my guess it’s 2 from 3 and Mctominay is liked by ETH so I’m guessing the other 2 will go for £25-30m combined.

It will depend if wet spam bid anywhere near the £40m McT will be gone like shyt off a shovel

He's 30 and only has a year left on his contract. It doesn't make sense to give him a new one when Ten Hag is trying to rebuild the midfield. Some money now is much better than losing him on a free next year.

Tier 1:

The striker, who has a contractual agreement with MU as reported by the English press, intends to honour his deal. If MU come to an agreement with Atalanta, the striker will sign there. As far as PSG are concerned, they can only hope that MU don't succeed.

Even though Højlund is open to joining PSG, United are his preferred option and will wait until United back out of the deal completely.

I’ve never actually seen Hojlund play much. But are we pinning all our hopes on a striker who scored 9 league goals last season?

I think we hope he brings goals but also helps bring others into more threatening areas and bring us more goals that way too.

What your pragmatic proposal to deal with the striker situation? Would you rather we signed no one?
