I don't know, are they really similar quality though? Gallagher has at least proven he can be a key player for a mid- to lower-half team. I'm not sure I'd assume McTominay could be that.
Why not? He’s played a big role for us and we’ve finished higher than West Ham every year ?
He’s not good enough to bridge the gap to city arsenal but he’s more than good enough to play for a mid table team

So your logic is that since Gallacher did well for a mid-to-lower half team - and then flopped horribly for Chelsea, that should be considered a bigger plus than McTominay who has played regularly for United and Scotland ?

On wanting to stay at United for the upcoming season:
Hopefully I can stay in the United first team. If it doesn’t happen and I have to go out on loan, then keep working hard and keep growing. I am 20 years old and what I want is to play. But if it can be at United, much better.

On his potential loan options:
I have been called [by] great Championship teams. And Preston wanted to continue counting on me. But in case of going out on loan, I would say that the time has come to go to a top league. Not to say directly the Premier League or La Liga.

On going back to Spain:
In the end, I have been away for a few years. That’s fine, but there’s always that spark to return. I’m great in England, it’s the truth, but there is always that door open to return to Spain in the future.

Di Marzio reported that Atalanta wants €80m + bonuses, which might take the total to the €100m that the reliable British journalists have been reporting for a while. He also reported that United want an agreement on €70m + bonuses, which, again, puts more weight to the reliable British journalists' recent reports about us not wanting to go above £60m. It looks like Pedullà's info (and Romano's recent info for that matter) is coming from Højlund's agent, whilst both di Marzio and the British journalists are getting their info from their respective clubs.

Atalanta currently want €80 million in total for Højlund but United want to close the deal at €70 million plus bonuses, with the gap between the two sides reducing now. This week is likely to be quite vital in the whole saga with parties hoping to close the deal by the weekend.

That's directly from the article. It says Atlanta wants 80 million euros in total which means the 80 million include bonuses. No chance the deal gets any were close to 100 million euros.

Source (Tier 4):

Talks are progressing well between Al-Nassr and Eric Bailly. According to some sources, the Ivorian defender is closing in on the Saudi club, where he could be reunited with his friend Cristiano Ronaldo.
NEWS - Eric Bailly, who spent last season on loan at Marseille and is now back at Manchester United, is in talks with Al-Nassr. His proximity to Cristiano Ronaldo is certainly a factor.

My bad. I was reading the original article and missed the "di bonus" part after the 80 million figure. Yeah, Atalanta don't want €100m in total. Pedullà's original suggestion of €60m + bonuses a few weeks back is more in line with this, then. Now I see why the Italian media in general's surprised by the British reports.

We shouldn't sell him just for the sake of it (I know Amrabat depends on this one, but still). If some club pays the £15m, we should let him go. But not for 8m euros.

Galatasary are offering €8m. It’s laughable.

We need Saudi to get involved. Or Fulham for £15m.

Well for a Turkish club that is a lot of money - I think the most they have signed a player for is about £12-13 million. So do not expect a £15 million bid from a turkish club

Fred should not be going for less than 25m he's a very useful player. Either these clubs pay up or he should stay.

I kinda like Palhinha - we can offer them £15 million + Fred
Fulham want £70m reportedly for Palhinha, no way we get him for £15m + Fred.

He's a very limited player too, clear that ten Hag doesn't rate him as he'd be a bench warmer at best if he stayed.

Sure. But not so sure he can do for West Ham what Gallagher did for Palace. At least, it's debatable.

Who cares west ham obviously don't value mctominay as highly as gallagher otherwise it would be done by now. And no one else seems to be in for him. The fact is mct isn't very good at dm, he is probably a better box to box midfielder but has rarely played there so whoever buys him would be taking a chance that he is a better player than we have seen to date

I refuse to believe we're close to Amrabat purely because we're working on Hojlund and I've never seen us close two deals at the same time.

I think it's safe to assume the poster didn't literally mean never, and I am not sure saying Nani and Anderson were signed close together 16 years ago proves them wrong about our current negotiating team

It does seem like we are close with Amrabat and that young striker who's name I can't spell though.

On Fred. According to Turkish Media one of the key transfer responsible person of Galatasaray is currently in Manchester to negotiate with Manchester United…

Galatasaray bought Torreira from Arsenal last year for EUR 6m, and is about to get Icardi for EUR 10m. In terms for realistic fees for Fred, don’t expect them to bid more than EUR 10m. The only reason they paid that amount for Icardi is that he is a bigger name, an attacker, and was on loan at Galatasaray last year where he was their best player. If we’re not happy with 10m, I am not, we should keep him as a backup up but him being out of the Madrid game suggests that we are planning to sell him

The problem is - with Mount, Bruno, Casemiro, Eriksen, probably Amrabat and Mainoo - we certainly dont need both Fred and McTominay. And I'd rather take £8-9 million for Fred (even if its too little) - and remove roughly £6 million in wages over the next 12 months - than sit with a player who at best will get a few subs-appearances.

CR7 & Kelberson no?
