This was the average position of the team against Brighton this season when Casemiro-Fred-Bruno started in our midfield. Fred and Bruno were similarly high up, it was a pure 4-3-3 with Martial dropping deep as a false 9.

So yeah, swapping Fred for Mount makes sense, but for me it would be more prudent to remove VdB first. Fred has offered more.
Do we have a market for VDB?

If you want to see Fred as the deepest midfielder, watch our first game of last season against Brighton. Then you'll understand why we played him more advanced from then on.
I'm aware he can't, but difference between being the deepest midfielder and an attacking midfielder?

I'd say it's funny, but it's not, the fact that we're seeing articles saying we can't spend much due to historic spending, yet here we are offering Mount wages worth £300k a week, absolutely bonkers.

High wage bill impact the financials of a club negatively indeed but in a slower rate than high transfer fees, of course high wage bill has a negative impact but not as negative as transfer fees.

It works both ways too, If we get rid of DDG and Maguire for example, the wage bill goes down, but selling players and getting good fees for them have a higher positive impact on the financials then getting rid of high earners at the club

I think it was Mount & Chelsea had verbal agreement on 250K, but Chelsea reneged and offered 200k only, we offered what Mount exactly wanted, it is too much for a player like him but we fecked up when we offered huge salary to Sancho and now we need to bring a lot of the starting/regular players to something close to it, I expect Rashford's contract to be the highest (375K) with DDG's exit.

I remember this is what happened with Ashley Cole as well - they had verbally offered him like £40K a week to sign a new contract - and then went back on it and offered him £5k less when the contract was in writing. Not a huge amount of money, but you can't trust people like that so I understand that Cole left. David Dein even apologized to Cole 15 years later, but by then Cole had turned into the clubs most hated player despite not doing anything wrong.

Why the hell would we loan him out ? He has like 2 years left of his contract, so after 1 season on loan he comes back and we will be desperate to try and sign a new deal. It makes zero sense. Play him this season or sell him before this season.
We are loaning him out, if it happens, because although he has done nothing wrong in the eyes of the law, the press and public will not forget his 'misdemeanours'. In a years time, if he comes back, no one will blink an eye.

Also a chance to see if he matures and settles down. If not, always open to more trouble

2years left on Contract plus option for another so effectively 3 years .

There is a lack of leadership (currently) (and no, I don’t mean ETH, but at board/ownership level). And currently even more due to the pending take over. The current owners probably don’t want anything to do with decision making apart from stuff which is absolutely necessary.

So the best option/non-decision until then seems to be a loan.

Hopefully with new ownership someone will be strong enough to make a decision either way and also be strong enough to face criticism and deal with it (criticism will be there regardless of what decision will be made).

This is fast approaching WWE fedexing CM Punks termination papers to him on his wedding day.

When exactly is this face to face due to take place? Technically at midnight hes no longer able to access anywhere on site so are we sending someone to meet him on honeymoon? Farcical.

Now he‘s getting married? Another way to trick us in overpaying?!?
Think it’s more the fact that DDG will be unattainable for sometime whilst he’s away getting married and going on a honeymoon.

Beckham - 19 - 4 appearances at age 20.
G. Neville - 19 - 1 appearance.
P. Neville - 18
N. Butt - 19
R Giggs - 18
P. Scholes - 20
L. Sharpe - 17
W Rooney - 18

Those are not first appearances, those are the ages at which they became regulars in the first team squad, so don't give me the 'well managed' spiel.
Nope, they didn't make that many appearances, they were blooded in like Garnacho.

Because Chelsea took the offer of £200k, ripped it up and offered him a lower amount, which pissed him off and here we are. Chelsea were never going to offer higher than £200k, hence the stalemate in negotiations between them and Mount, then we went flying in straight away with £250k + £50k in bonuses.
Also absolute nomarks coming in and earning triple what he is earning when he's been their players player for two years.

Are these players just really crap, why can’t we get better fees, not big of course but at least a million or two, surely they are not on high wages either.
