That fee has practically covered the Malacia deal. Net spend kings.

Such a nothing player, Fulham have lost their damn mind spending that much on him but I'll happily take it!
Because they play Football Manager excessively. Why are people so obsessed with saved wages?!

x2 there's no evidence whatsoever to suggest that the Glazers intend to reinvest that money anyway. Just more money in the pockets of those cnuts. Why are people so obsessed with saved wages?!

It’s hard to define it in such a way that means something while also excluding Lukaku. For instance, I’d say it means a player can get in one of the top sides in the best leagues in the world. So England, Spain, Germany, and the top 2 clubs in each.Eh define ‘world class’ please

That's a good move for all parties, funnily if we straight swapped him for Fernandes last season, I'd argue that his output wouldn't be too disimilar... after such a shocking season from Bruno.

yep because he plays as the second striker mostly and lost the most ball in the prem.Bruno crested the most chances in the league last season
Why would he be pissed off at his team mates? He was also part of the team and the problem. Can't imagine he's the only one pissed off at team mates for causing a 25% reduction in wages. It's probably why De Gea was so fiery as well.
De Ligt affair
- Chelsea have moved earlier and are ahead.
- Bayern, in contact with Juve and surroundings.
- The price, high, conditions.
- City, waiting for Aké's future to be resolved.
- United, focused on Lisandro Martinez, but ten Hag likes him.

De jong isn't Carrick he has different attributes. Carrick was better positionally and happy to sit at the base of midfield, whereas de jong is much better at carrying the ball and often vacates his position doing soCarrick seemed to manage ok, he was hardly tough as nails destroyer type DM.
I think an intelligent reader of the game can easily be just as successful.
No, that was Trent who was also close to Bruno in chance creation. Obviously shows you have to take risks to be creative. Hence why Cancelo is above Bruno as well and he plays in a Pep side.yep because he plays as the second striker mostly and lost the most ball in the prem.
Wouldn't be surprised to see us play a back 3 with Martinez stepping into midfield when FdJ pushes on.De jong isn't Carrick he has different attributes. First revealed by @RkkMan in the Frenkie de Jong thread:
Source (written by Luis F. Rojo):
- As part of de Jong's contract extension agreement in 2020, Barcelona deferred his salary payments until this year.
- For the next 4 years, Barcelona must pay to de Jong:
- €88.58m for the fixed salary + loyalty bonuses
- Variable payments
- €8m (€2m/year) if de Jong plays 60% of the games
- Max. €12.8 (€3.2m/year) for trophies won/if the team reaches the CL final
- As a result, de Jong effectively breaks the salary structure that Laporta is trying to establish.
- Possible justification for letting de Jong go despite saying otherwise in public

If Ronaldo leaves I also think we'll play some sort of false 9 of either Bruno or Donny with Rashford and Sancho playing narrow outside forwards running into the space left as the false 9 pulls out.
----- Rashford - Bruno - Sancho
Malacia - de Jong - Eriksen - Dalot
-- Martinez --- Maguire --- Varane
becoming
------------------ Rashford --- Sancho
Malacia - de Jong - Bruno - Eriksen - Dalot
‐-------------------------- Martinez
----------‐-------- Maguire - Varane
Would be a slightly mental lineup but potentially very good at keeping posession.
Yes I think the RB position would need an upgrade but perhaps it's less urgent as long as we have someone who can cover the ground and make crosses. With a back 3 the RB isn't always the last line of defence so the lapses of concentration that Dalot and AWB both suffer are less of a worry.i like this. Need a right back though

“I think in my nature as a player, I want to receive the ball early in the play and to set up the play,” the midfielder told UEFA.com.
“I think that’s more my style of play than waiting for the ball and receiving it upfront, and touching the ball less,” he said.
“I think I feel more comfortable in the pivot position than high upfront, but I can also play high upfront. It doesn’t matter for me so much but, if I had to choose, I would rather play as a double pivot than, for example, as a ‘mediapunta’ (false nine).”
"His quality is that he makes the forwards perform better. He is a wanderer, an adventurer, he’s always on the move, like a shark. With the ball, often, but also without the ball. So if you put him on 6 [defensive midfield], he’s away too often. But you need to give him freedom, otherwise you can’t the best out of him.
"It wasn’t an easy puzzle, so I decided to play with two number 6s and only one attacking mid. And in this way, we can also dominate the half space, and force opponents to choose."
So who would you want that's realistic ? considering our budget and the options that are available ?
Everyone is saying no thanks like we've got plenty of options.
I think there's a good chance of this happening. It's the type of signing we tend to make when we panic and don't have any realistic transfers that we can afford. Hope he's not a total flop if it does happen.

Mctominay is awful at shielding the defence though, hence why we need someone else for that positionIn De Jong's own words:
And this is what Ten Hag had to say:
I think De Jong will play in a midfield two alongside either Martinez or McTominay. Eriksen doesn't have the nous to shield the defence and Fred is easier to run through than wet tissue.
I actually wouldn't be surprised to see us resurrect the 4-2-2-2 experiment that Rangnick failed at. Without a focal point at CF (now that Ronaldo is leaving), it makes sense. EtH seems to be getting his message through to the players better than the last guy. It might finally work.
