I think we do to a certain extent. Our structure is brand new, there isn't a lot of experience there in terms of building a team and ETH presents a completely different playing philosophy. Over time I assume the structure being put in place will be tasked with recruitment rather than taking pointers from the manager, but we need to ensure that ETH feels he has a team capable of actualising his style of play. The ex-players links are quite understandable in my view, he already trusts those players. But whether they'll be priced within our range is another matter.
My thoughts too. ETH has history of taking players from his last club to kickstart the process in the new one. And in fairness every one of those players listed are better than most of ours

It does beg the question what exactly are our scouting department up to, doesn't it? But hey, paper talk. We'll have a look at the end of the window.
I think it suggests ETH told the scouting team he only wants players he's already worked with in this window.

I can understand that in a way. He will want his system up and running as smoothly and quickly as possible. Then he can start adding more pieces from different leagues and teams to improve it further when necessary.

Raphinha, final decision

Deco is in Barcelona to define with the technical board the future of Raphinha, who is still waiting for Barça.

Regarding the United link, what Sport Witness has highlighted is all that Joaquim Piera covers in the article. Other bits that were not previously reported:
  • Liverpool and Chelsea have pushed the hardest in the negotiations.
    • Offers from Arsenal, Tottenham, and United, too.
    • [Goes against what The Athletic have been reporting regarding Raphinha and Arsenal's interest]
  • Raphinha requests Leeds to continue negotiating with Barcelona.

Just sell him. At this point I would consider it a minor victory to recoup 5M on a youth product whose value peaked a couple years ago and has looked average on loan, getting his wages off the books, and clearing up a squad place for an academy player.

Straight from the horse's mouth:

Meanwhile, according to Berger, the player was actually offered to Bayern Munich by his agents.

Adam Crafton clarifies Tom Keane's role, somewhat.

So if we were to believe reports, Matt Judge is still at the club working on transfers until his notice period ends? I wish we had gotten his replacement earlier to help with the transition.

Hard to find the words to sum up my dispair at our current predicament.

Would be sad to see him leave but if its for a club with CL next season I wouldn't begrudge him that. Rare shining light in a season of shit

Give this man a job for outgoing transfers utd. Simple commonsense.

Ah take the feckin 5 at this stage. This lad just needs to go.
Oh come on, just grab the 5 dollars and go.
Take the money and MOVE ON

Would you guys rather we reject higher offers from European teams (as reported by Venê Casagrande a while back) to accept Flamengo's offer?

If there was a higher offer they would’ve took it alresdy. Plus Andreas has a say in this too. He wanted to stay.

There's nothing indicating that we haven't already. All of the reporting on Andreas Pereira has been one-sided i.e. from Flamengo's perspective. We've got no reports on the European interest, but that doesn't necessarily mean there's nothing to it, merely that the clubs want to keep things quiet (see Gedson Fernandes' Besiktas transfer as an example).

On Andreas' preference, yes, he does want to stay at Flamengo, but he felt the exact same way about Lazio before this. I think he just wants a club where he can play regularly, and whichever club that is, he'll play his heart out for them.

Berger is reliable with German news so this is likely to be true. Can anyone really blame him? We have no ambition.

You are hopeful when I’m operating in evidence. Until a specific club gets mentioned my post and the others stand as is.
