I think I've seen enough to suggest that Ronaldo probably is ideally looking to leave if another club comes along. I know some might think that's a good thing but honestly I think that would be a disaster, especially if it happens late in the window like it did with Juve.

There are no 100% certainty’s in football but the closest you can get to one is knowing this club will mostly disappoint on and off the pitch. We have been stuck in this cycle for years now and personally I don’t see it ending anytime soon.

Yep. But if those reports are accurate and Ajax want 50m for either centre back or 70m for Antony it makes no sense to pursue those deals. Frenkie is a rare breed and already made one expensive move to a top club, so it's understandable that we'd pay a top fee. But to pay those figures for potential would be continuing the same trend of overpaying and burdening the players with too much expectation. It would also put unnecessary pressure on ETH with that kind of money spend on potential - everyone would be expecting that potential to be realised immediately. Hopefully he has ideas about desirable players outside of Ajax that can be tried if we're being quoted overblown fees.

Look at sancho and Varane last season, neither got a proper preseason and both failed to live up to expectations and struggled for fitness.

I don't know if we did or didn't. The post about the better European offer is based on what another, more reliable Brazilian journalist reported a couple of weeks back (see below). Anyways, Flamengo haven't even submitted this offer; they're preparing it at this time. We'll see what happens when they submit it.
Yeah, I was stating my opinion and putting forth my own conjecture on Pereira's current situation, but it's not based on nothing. Here's what I base it on:
Casagrande's one of, if not the, most reliable Brazilian football reporters. One of our Brazilian posters had this to say about him:
Goal Brasil isn't terrible, but I'd like to wait and see if a more reliable journalist reports on this Flamengo offer. Anyways, I've read this Sport Witness article that covers the report. This €5m offer that Flamengo are readying up isn't for 100% of his rights but 50% of it. To restate, they'd purchase him for €5m, and there will basically be a "50% sell-on clause" for Pereira. Manchester United, however, want to completely sell Pereira for €10m, so I doubt they'll accept this offer once they receive it.

I’ve read this once or twice here and there and feel when Ten hag signed, he was given a list of targets that our scouting department have identified but he felt they didn’t fit his style. Big changes behind the scenes, new scouts etc but with little to no time to scout for players that fit with ten hag vision. We’ve resorted to buying players (or attempting) that ten hag has worked with in the past. He knows they fit his style and would make an impact but unfortunately it seems that we are too late. Ajax are saying no more sales and have increased their prices for players while we keep trying de jong.
I feel we will get him, maybe one or two more but we will haveto spend silly money again.
I have faith that we will improve regardless of how many we bring in. Hopefully securing top 4 while our scouts actually getto work finding those hidden gems that fit with ten hag.

A lot of teams have money, just none of them want to spend any of it on our shite players unfortunately
Part of this is due to our insane decisions to extend contracts to some players, or not try to sell them couple of years ago. 2-3 years ago we might've been able to sell Mata (he spent 90% of the time sitting on the bench), Jones, Bailly etc. Now, no one who has brains will buy our players who are either garbage or/and are injured most of the time. Heck, we should've let Henderson leave last year, now we are sending him on a loan. We are flying circus

It`s not about entitlement, but about getting the new manager the best start possible with getting him players in early so he can work with them all summer. Or do you prefer the Woodward/Judge way ? to feck around all summer and get players in at the end of window so the player and manager have no time together.

Well when you never buy the right type of players and keep getting them in at the end of the window instead of at the start of window, you are really not giving them a good chance or time to train and adapt with the team wich also does not help the manager or players.
The problem is he's only good in pre-season and isn't good enough to be a squad player.

I thought those deals weren't legal for PL clubs or is what you're described a way around it with paying us half and including that hefty sell on clause? It's still not a great deal either way.
They are talking about Flamengo’s initial agreement. Nothing about another club.
