Ten Hag on whether he's decided on Henderson's future:
Hopefully not back at United, not the right quality or mindset we need or want at the club.
Ten Hag on whether he's decided on Henderson's future:
Enzo Fernández arrived in Portugal. His agent travelled to be close by in case he has to negotiate a contract if a club decides to pay Benfica's exit clause -120 million-. There it depends on the buying club.
Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid. In that order.
At this moment in time, the sale of Enzo Fernandez is more feasible than the sale of Alexis Mac Allister. Both are possible, but Enzo's prospects are more likely to be good for a sale now.
I think they do, but they're weirdly taking a hard stance on there being no option to buy, whilst charging a large loan fee and expecting the buyer to cover all the wages as well.Feck me so nobody wants him and Atletico are hoping someone else unlocks him and creates a bidding war.
Why isn’t anybody in there with 60m chancing their arm? Could it be not many clubs rate him?
Really odd stance.I think they do, but they're weirdly taking a hard stance on there being no option to buy, whilst charging a large loan fee and expecting the buyer to cover all the wages as well.
I can't see that remaining the case if they actually need to move him on.
I guess it's the opening gambit and they're hoping someone would be desperate enough to take the first opportunity given to steal a march. Problem is the only teams that would go for that, Felix is never going to want to go to (I'm looking at you Villa).Really odd stance.
“He’s not worked out for us so if you wouldn’t mind developing him so we make more money in the summer that would be great.”
Considering how much they spent on him it’s odd they’d think anyone would go for this.I guess it's the opening gambit and they're hoping someone would be desperate enough to take the first opportunity given to steal a march. Exactly, I wonder who is dictating this - Mendes or Atletico?Considering how much they spent on him it’s odd they’d think anyone would go for this.
They're clearly having FOMO. If they're worried about losing a talent then they should just fire simeone and sign a more progressive coach.Really odd stance.

When?In addition to the Glazer issue, the overspending on our transfers over the last few years is now catching up with us.
Why would that be the case? It's not about affordability. It's daft to make signings while the club is up for sale.
It caught up with us a while back meaning we had windows like 20/21.In addition to the Glazer issue, the overspending on our transfers over the last few years is now catching up with us.
A net spend of more than half a billion euros in the last 4 years with the aim of scraping top 4 isn't overspending? The club at the end of September had £24m in cash yet still owed more than £300m on previous transfers, a loan at best to offer cover up front for the rest of the season was always the only reasonable expectation for January. When?

Those numbers aren’t anything special.
No because most of that spend came from last season and even then 120m odd a summer shouldn’t be that much for a club of our stature and finances.A net spend of more than half a billion euros in the last 4 years with the aim of scraping top 4 isn't overspending? Last summer was the biggest but not many of the signings from 2021 or 2019 have really worked out to this point (2020 was just a very odd summer window by us). The 3 players you've listed were bought in either 2018 or 2019, they're examples of the overspending, while we've shown no ability to get money in from sales so I'm not sure any funds will be massively increased by selling 30 year olds in Fred (who will only have a year left on his contract) and Maguire. If football was actually fair then United would have been punished a lot more for years of absolutely dreadful transfer activity (and managerial appointments) but the disparity in wealth means they've at least been able to stay a fringe top 4 side for the last decade. No because most of that spend came from last season and even then 120m odd a summer shouldn’t be that much for a club of our stature and finances.
I partly blame Ten Hag for this. We spent a lot last summer but sold nobody because he wanted to assess the squad himself. We should have sold Harry, Fred, AWB and the like which would have greatly brought the spend down. We’ll probably do this next summer and it’ll look like we’re selling to buy when, In reality, we would be selling players that had no business lasting one more season with us.

Edit go back further and out spend evens out even more. I’ve never heard or fanbase say we spent too much under the Glazers. That’s a new one to me
3 CBs is enough. Harry is barely playing as it is and AWB has started 2/3 games more than I have for United this season. That’s 140m worth of back up that you’ve just accepted there! And then what? Have one right back and three central defenders? I guess Fred is the only one you can make a case for selling without needing to use the money to buy a replacement straight away. He’s played 18 times so far this season.
