Huge signing for us. Elanga's too technically undeveloped to occupy a frequent starter role as a wide forward, so having Antony, Rashford and Sancho sharing the majority of the two wide forward roles amongst them would be great. Would also love it if we signed a striker so we'd never have to see Rashford as a 9 again.

Absurd that a team in desperate need of a striker is paying 100m for another wide player.

And that's not even factoring in the argument that we are wildly overpaying for Antony

We were also in desperate need of a right winger, arguably more so (Martial/Rashford/Ronaldo is better than Sancho/Elanga/Chong, and Sancho is better on the left).

Osimhen. FDJ. Antony. Dubravka. RB. Depay.

Inject into my veins. Muppets believe.

Rashford isn't a striker and aside from the Liverpool game isn't playing well at any position.

Martial has been in even worse form than Rashford recently and even if that is about to change under Ten Hag, he never stays healthy.

Ronaldo supposedly doesnt fit the system, has been dropped and is desperate to leave.

Very sorry state of affairs upfront.

We haven't had a right winger for 10 years.

Agreed that Martial would be ahead of Rashford in the central position, and that he's not ideal. But he's better than our second choice on the right, which is Elanga.

Counting play time and not injury time, Martial is in better form than Rashford, and is in good form overall. He was on fire in pre-season and then injuries hit. His injuries are a real problem, though, for sure.

Ronaldo has been dropped and is desperate to leave.
Doesn't matter, once the window slams shut he'll play as well as he can. He's too arrogant about being the best in the world to down tools completely when he's playing. Doesn't suit our play style at all, though.

Martial = Sancho on recent form, caveat of injury prone
Rashford > Elanga
Ronaldo > Chong

You're comparing all three strikers to Sancho, when you should be comparing depth. RW was more in need than striker, but it's reasonable to say that we were desperate in both positions and we are building from the back to front, which is how most managers build their teams.

Hate the fee, like the player. Very excited to see him play! I think Antony and a backup keeper and we’re done for the summer, unless AWB leaves.

Ignore the fee, that’s money that would’ve gone to glazers pockets anyway
That’s the sad part, hard to rationalize things when the Glazers is super unpredictable, the money could’ve been used for two decent players to fill in holes in the squad, or easily not spent at all.. that’s why I’m more excited about the signings and not the fees, but also think the fee is crazy.

Imagine last summer having finally signed Sancho, to imagine we'd spend 100m on a right winger the next season!!

So? With a high intensity play style we need to rotate. Out of every 3 games, both Sancho and Antony will be likely starting every 2:
Sancho - CF - Antony
LF - CF - Antony
LF - CF - Sancho

Sancho was billed as the right wing solution.
Then we realised he's not that great on the right.

Think Sancho is brilliant on the right, but significantly better on the left. Having a left footer on the right can help us massively

Its done now stop fecking moaning about the fees. Even if he's mediocre at RW it would be a massive upgrade on what we have now.

Malacia, Martinez, Casemiro, Eriksen and Antony. 5 guaranteed starters. Not a bad window at all. Next window get another 5-6 in and we'll have a brand new starting 11.

Do we have the funds now to get another in?
(excluding gk)
A RB or a CM could push us into top 4.

It's not ideal but who would have thought that Martial, Greenwood and Rashford would have been 'lost' the way they have. That's about 250 million worth of talent right there worth very little now.
