We really need three more outfield players if Antony signs. Obviously we won't get that, but Antony will struggle massively without a good RB overlapping with runs. Casemiro shouldn't be expected to compensate for McFred's lack of talent, and we really shouldn't be going into a season with Martial as our main man up front.

CF, CM and a RB please
We could easily get top four if we get 3 out of the two.

Fancy going to someone and saying "I like your Ferrari. I obviously can't afford it but you don't really need it anyway. I'll take it off your hands if you could see your way to continue paying half of the monthly instalments for me?"

Don't see us signing another CM after spending this much on Martinez, Antony and Casemiro.

A goalkeeper (likely Dubravka) will definitely arrive. Otherwise I think further signings are contingent on sales. If we sell AWB, we'll sign a right-back and if we sell Ronaldo, we'll sign a striker, otherwise I don't see it.

It's very unlikely we'll sell McT but if we do, we'll buy another midfielder.

To be honest, even if Antony and Dubravka will be the final signings, that's a very good window considering how bleak it looked when we were linked with Rabiot and Arnautovic.

At this point I’ll take any CM. When you look at how comfortable an 18 year old CM for Southampton looked against us we need someone. Still curious to see what happens with our two Brazilians in midfield but we need reinforcements.

I would take Tielemans this late in the window. We need another ball player badly.

Glazers need to commit next season's money to landing a CM, RB and CF before Thursday. I'm ok with not spending big next summer if we land the right players.

He has been shockingly bad recently though
I'm not sure he'll be a massive upgrade.

Tielemans of 3 seasons ago, yes please!

Incredible window for us so far.

Striker>GK>MF for me but that is my preference can totally see why an additional MF would be a priority for others .

Very easy to say that 12 months early. Your tune will of course change by next summer.

Personally I'm happy enough with our window now. Anyone expecting us to fix 7-8 issues in one summer plays too much FM or FIFA.

CF, sell Ronaldo, RB (like malacia) and cm (somebody who can pass / dictate) and we do look a different team

GK was the one position I wanted sorted this season though but looks like we will wait until next season

Which player was that?

Since all transfer fees are payed during the whole contract length - a lenghty contract for Antony is likely, I guess 5+1 years.
If Ronaldo leaves our wage budget is relieved and I guess De Gea leaves next year. Then there is a lot of space in the wage department, so I guess all the money spent this summer will get ETH going
and the coming years will be a bit more sparse.

To me this feels like a pragmatic way to go. Get the team together now and the just sprinkle in the coming years. That's what all the other top teams does. (Read not Chelsea).

Fingers crossed ETH works out :)

I just can't see it with Tielemans - of course he adds depth, but is he a much better player than Fred and McTominay ? Or let me put it like this - the £25-30 million it would cost us to sign Tielemans - can't we find a better player for almost the same amount from someplace else ?

If we are looking for depth and cheap Sander Berge att Sheffield United is imo a better player - at a cheaper price

But after Antony, Martinez and Casemiro - let's continue look for world-class players or players with world-class potential - Tielemans is neither

So who is that CM with world class potential

This was I assume on NBC on the telly in America, Ornstein does a bit of work for them so can't find a source as per the rules but here's a tweet below, delete if necessary.

Given that in most games we've faced Leicester he's run circles around both of them, it's safe to say he's a much better player than those two, and he does add a lot of depth in the squad because he's also much more versatile than McT at least.

For £25m, you can't find many better options, considering he is PL proven too.

Surely we’d know if there is money before the Antony deal gets done. It’s not like a child going into the candy shop emptying their pockets.

I found the source:

I believe the video's only viewable in North America, so here's what he said:
  • A contact that Ornstein spoke to thinks that ~£400m more will be spent in the last few days of the window primarily from the biggest teams
  • Antony deal (basically what he Tweeted)
    • Unlikely that they'll pursue Cody Gakpo (Ornstein seemed like he was using his conjecture here)
  • More conjecture: probably no other signings outside of a backup keeper
    • Loan + purchase option for Dubravka
  • On the Tweet content itself, Ornstein stated this: "There are also some enquiries around the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang..."

Depends on how the deal for Antony is being structured. If its say £30m this summer and then installments versus £50m this summer then installments.
