There is interest, but I have always said that the whole picture has to be right. It is a puzzle. I have to see which puzzle fits the most.

Another CM is an absolute must still, we’re injury away from McT starting and I’m still to be convinced that Bruno will play a permanent role in the midfield.

Jason Burt has been pushing the idea we're after 2 midfielders for weeks but it feels like he's the only one. I hope he's right, but everywhere else seems to think it's gonna be just Casemiro.

A right back and striker are much more likely given AWB/Ronaldo have the potential to leave and we may be able to find affordable options in those positions. To sign a quality midfielder would take some serious money.

Why would we be preparing the contract now? Wouldn't it be prepared already?

A little bit more info on the Antony deal:

The solidarity payment is 2.7% of the total €95m guaranteed amount.

Yeah those two positions like you say fully hinge on whether AWB & Ronaldo leave

As I have said before, I think it is De Jong or no-one. James Garner is a good barometer of that deal, as ETH said if we dont get De Jong, we will mould someone internally to play that DLP role in the double pivot, and I think that is James Garner. All the talk about James Garner going, but he hasn't gone yet. If De Jong comes, Garner goes. If he doesn't come, Garner stays and rotates with Eriksen alongside Casemiro. Watch this space....

Yeah makes no sense to get rid of Garner if we're not going to bring in someone who's genuinely a quality player.

Bruno, Eriksen, Casemiro, McTominay, Fred, VDB and Garner for the 3 midfield spots it is.

Zidane and Charlie out on loan on the final day of the window.

Think we'll loan out Amad and Hannibal too. Pellistri is injured so he'll stay. Garnacho stays too and can be re-evaluated in January.

Shame that Williams, Jones and Tuanzebe are injured.

Only signing I'm seeing right now is Dubravka on loan to compete with Heaton for second choice and the other goalies out on loan.

Yeah Garner only leaves for FDJ

i think it's more likely to be Iqbal

It would be a waste for him to be 7th choice IMO. He's already played enough U23 football. Needs regular first-team games. Especially in midfield, it's harder to break through compared to someone like Garnacho/Elanga.

Can’t see anyone else coming in after Antony. That puts out transfer spend over £200m. Surely no more money left.

Lots of Europa League games to play don’t forget. We’ll need lots of options.

We'll be done now except maybe Dubravka. Spent a lot more than I expected but have still left big flaws in the starting XI which will leave us short of the top 5.

Decent transfer window all things considered. Now it'd be nice to finish it off by binning off that bellend Ronaldo and signing a forward
