Thanks to @TMDaines in the Frenkie de Jong thread:

This doesn't mean that the deal's off, merely that the clubs will need to formally agree on the deal again.

EDIT: Tier 1

So Barcelona will ask for new fee which will be the extra 17 million(deferred wages owed) to the original fee they accepted. What a waste of time waiting last couple months then if we do end up paying extra.

I don't expect them to. They were asking Chelsea for a price that's €5m less than what we initially agreed on. The deferred wages are Barcelona's problem only, and as of now, they haven't been pushing that out to either United or Chelsea.

Sorry if I missed it, but why where they asking for less from Chelsea?

They were always asking for €80m, even from us. We offered a little bit more than that to make it easier for Barcelona to deal with Frenkie's wage situation

It's been a train wreck of a saga, like our entire transfer window.

Should move on to Savic and be done with it

Totally different players and would just further the idea that it’s just a scattergun approach with no plan.

If we loan this kid back to Seria A then the circle of utter fuking incompetence will be complete. Absolute joke of a club while Amad has wasted nearly 2 years of his career to end up exactly where he started. Who is in charge of this policy?

So many leaks out this squad.
And you believe this crap? our fans will believe anything negative about the club. So the players including Rashford, Maguire, Bruno who are all on shaky legs they could be replaced this season are mad and want new players who will potentially take their place in the team. It don't even make sense.

Does not change my statement.

Strange thinking. If you have collaegues that are incompetent at their job and makes your life harder you want new, better collaegues right? Or you Will find new job. It’s the same here. They’re tired of shit players.

But the ones demanding better players are guilty of being shit themselves

Tier 2:

Context: Shrager is posting this after mufcMPB posted some fake news and attributed it to Phillip Hinze, who's a Sky Sports Germany journalist.

There is no point for Ronaldo to go to the board requesting incoming transfers, if he actually tries to leave the club himself
